Comment: purchased this last month. Bike is cruiser but seat is hard after a few hours of riding. Was looking at replacing seat and this seemed a cheaper alternative. Boyfriend seems to be happy. Only complaint is although it comes with attachment loops, it does not come with straps to attach to bike.

If you have any kind of hip, knee or back injury, These Airhawk cushions are great. The normal vibrations that emanate from motorcycle riding are gone with one of these babies. My back and hip are no issues anymore.. And I can ride again in comfort for hours and not feel sore when I get off my bike. These days I HAVE to ride a Burgman 650 exec...the cushion is magic. Without one I don't think I could ride....your biker buddies make better choices. Thank you.

Comment: I bought this hoping that it would help me to be able to have an easier ride on the back of my husband's Harley. With my bad back, we would have to stop every 20 minutes, and would have a sore back for two days. Tried it out for the first time today, and we could drive for over an hour before I needed to stop and stretch. When we got home, I noticed that my back isn't sore. YEAH!! Lots of riders have been there. You’re still two good hours away from your
destination and it feels like you’ve ridden the last hundred miles on a bed of
hot gravel. The constant pressure and lack of circulation is ruining your ride.
You’ve tried gel inserts, foam pads, and even high dollar complete seat
replacements. Still, the scenery and comradery of a long ride is just not worth
the discomfort. This is more common than many riders want to admit and keeps
some from riding at all. Well, guess what? Now there’s a solution; the Airhawk
line of motorcycle seat cushions.
The Airhawk’s Shape Fitting Technology was originally developed for wheelchair
users to equalize surface pressure. They soon realized that this design also
offers vibration control and shock absorbtion. This technology proved very
useful in the trucking industry and soon found its way to motorcycling.
The Airhawk seat cushions are available in three series or versions and have
multiple sizes and shapes within each series; the original
economical Airhawk 2, and the premium Airhawk R. Not all sizes and shapes are
available in all versions, though, so make sure you double check the dimensions
on the listing to make sure the Airhawk seat cushion you choose will fit on your
The main difference between the Airhawk and the Airhawk 2 is the material the
cells are made of. The original Airhawk is made of neoprene rubber. This
material has a very heavy duty feel and has some stretchiness. The Airhawk 2 is
made of polyurethane. This material is lighter and thinner and a lot less
stretchy. The Airhawk 2 is still much better than most any other type of cushion
and is economically priced, but for the longer distance rider, the original
Airhawk or the Airhawk R is going to be well worth the extra investment.
The Airhawk R uses the same high quality neoprene as the original Airhawk but
has an updated cell arrangement. This new configuration has been designed
specifically for motorcycling and alleviates almost all the pressure on easily
irritated rider parts.
All of these styles also offer improved circulation over other seat covers. This
reduces numbness in the toes and keeps you tuned in to your foot controls. The
improved airflow throughout the seating area also helps manage moisture which
allows your wicking undergarments to perform at very high levels. This may help
to reduce chaffing and sore skin.
There are a couple of ways to install these cushions. If you have an easily
removable seat you use the loops on all four corners and the provided straps to
attach the cushion then replace the seat. If your seat is bolted on, you use
only one of the straps and the front two loops. Slide the strap over the front
of your seat and your almost ready. Remove the Airhawk from its cover. Open the
valve and blow about a half of a breath into it. Quickly close the valve.
Reinstall the Airhawk into its cover and sit on your bike. Reopen the valve to
let air out until you can just barely feal the cusion between you and your seat.
When it's properly inflated it will look almost flat. All in all, the Airhawk
line of motorcycle seat cushions sets the bar for riding comfort and once you
ride with one you’ll be making excuses to go the long way home.
