Vega V-Tune Bluetooth Helmet

Comment: I bought 2 of these - one for me and one for my wife. Great overall bluetooth helmet. I have heard the previous version had some flaws in the audio quality but this new updated one I bought has real good quality overall.

Comment: I was thinking of buying a bluetooth helmet for a long time. I used to use my chatterbox with the hjc helmet but now went with this integrated peice and so happy i did. The vega vents work great and the quality, fit, finish are all good.

Comment: Checked reviews on Vega website and it recommended 1 size smaller than other helmets I wear. I ideally wear a 2XL but ordered XL in Vega and it fit perfect. Great fit, Bluetooth was easy with my Droid. Great deal.

Comment: I too ordered a size smaller and it fit great. I did cut out the top rib in the padding because it rubbed my head, but after that it was great. Hooked right up to my Droid phone. My longest ride has been 7 hours so far and the charge lasted the whole time using my Pandora and the phone twice. Great value.

Comment: Fit great and the vents work well, I never get too hot. Speaker quality really bites but it better than messing with ear buds.

Comment: Love this helmet for so many reasons. Mostly the bluetooth. But the air vents and built in sunvisor are pretty cool also. It is also cheap!

Comment: I recently purchase this helmet at 109.00, considering that most bluetooth helmets are 200 or more this is a steal. The sound quality is Awesome, it is very loud. I actually have to turn volume for my music down. When I first got the helmet though, sound was only coming out one earpiece. I pulled back the padding to show where the speakers connect to the bluetooth box and the plug wasn't pushed in the whole way. After I pushed it in the whole way wow, awesome sound. I've had a Torq bluetooth helmet which I sent back, because it was extremely heavy compared to this model. Don't hesitate to purchase this helmet if you are looking for a bluetooth helmet it is by far the best band for the buck. I would jump on the sale price now. I can't stress how great this helmet sounds. I'm not one for posting reviews, but I was having second thoughts after reading some reviews about the sound. I'm glad I purchased it, like I said the sound is very loud, you won't be disappointed. Oh and as for the shipping, I ordered Monday helmet showed up Wednesday. Very fast free shipping. I will be ordering all my motorcycle supplies from Jafrum.

Comment: These helmets run 1/2 size big. I wish I got an extra large but if I did, I might wish I got a large. Bluetooth is easy to use. Helmet is very good quality. I really like the built in sun shield.

Comment: Great quality helmet. For it to have free shipping I recieved in 3 days. Only problem i had which was just minor was putting lining back together after connecting earpieces. I didnt pay attention to how the pieces were installed so caught the devil putting it back together but then again I am a female.

Comment: Got this helmet and I like it. the speakers could be better, but my bike is louder than most at 70MPH on the highway. Around town the speakers are great.. Would definitely buy another. super easy to sync up and I dont have a single problem with the bluetooth. the smoke screen is really nice too. Quality made.. I once bought a cheap chinese helmet, this one is made very well.

Comment: I have had a few other bluetooth helmets and none of them fit as nice as this one and the sound on this one is by far the best. I use it with my cell phone and down loaded a eq app and the sound is amazing for the $. The sizes run big. I have another helmet that is 2xl. Ordered same size in this model and had to send back for XL.

Comment: Since the true worth of a helmet is in its' ability to protect your head in an accident (which fortunately I have not had the pleasure of) I will only rate the helmet for it's features. 1. Bluetooth - Easy sync, stays synced. 2. Feature/Action Buttons - Work well and easy to toggle once you remember which does what. 3. Sound Quality - Less than desirable; for the money paid, it should have much better quality and sound. Best described as "old AM transistor radio" (but then again I'm a fan of "true sound") 4. Venting - City riding gets a little stuffy. At 45 mph and up, cool and refreshing. 5. Sizing - Very true to sizing chart. I ignored comments about sizing up if you measured in between and glad that I did. I'm blessed with high cheek bones (ha ha) so the front face pads are a bit much but the rest fits perfectly. 6. Sun Visor - A W E S O M E ! 7. Clear Shield - SQUEALS LIKE A PIG at highway speeds. Since nothing in life is perfect, I give it 4 stars and a good value. The speakers I can replace with better quality (the speaker/mic unit actually plugs/unplugs into the Bluetooth "box" and the squealing is nothing a couple of earplugs or loud music can't fix. A great 'middle of the road' price-point deal! P.S. My experience is on my '07 Honda 750 Shadow Spirit w/out a windshield and Cobra pipes that which creates a "pinging" in right ear that I don't hear when I ride without the helmet on (I know, bad boy).

Comment: This helmet has everything I was looking for at this price point. I would love to have picked up the modular version, but at this price you have to pick Bluetooth or modular. I would much rather listen to music and be able to answer calls while riding. I had a similar problem that somebody else listed, in that only one speaker was working. After locating the unit the wires plug into and making sure the connections were secure, it was 100% stereo after that. I have not used it on the freeway yet, but at speeds up to 50 MPH the volume is plenty loud. There is every indication that there is plenty of volume left for highway speeds. The Bluetooth setup is a breeze and automatically connects to my android phone every time I turn the helmet on. Great features like automatic music interrupt-and-resume for incoming calls are very welcome. As for the sizing: I usually wear a large, but based on reviews on this site I purchased a size smaller and got a medium. I wish I had purchased the large. Luckily, with a head cover to go over my ears (one of those spandex-type things with no bandana ties) it is tolerable. It isn't the manufacturer's fault I listened to peoples' advice and got the sizing wrong. On the bright side, I guess it's better to have a helmet a bit snug rather than a bit loose. Overall, this is a great helmet at an amazing price. I would not hesitate to recommend this to friends, family, or anyone else.

Comment: Fast free shipping. Got it in 3 days. When listening to music the sound quality is great. The only issues I have had is that while traveling down the road over 50 mph, phone calls are pretty hard to hear, but my bike is louder than most. Also while connected with another helmet when my girlfriend is riding with me, when we try to talk to each other through the helmet the audio cuts out petty bad. I am going to try to put dielectric grease on the plug in port and see if it will improve the connection for better sound quality. I called Vega and they told me to try that.

Comment: So far, I've only ridden with it for about a week or so. I haven't taken any phone calls with the helmet (nor am I planning on it) - I bought it to listen to music as I ride. When I first paired the helmet to my phone and listened to a song or two, the sound was so bad. I then reminded myself that I was going to be riding at 70 mph on an interstate, and that there was going to be enough wind noise that expecting perfect sonic fidelity was silly on my part. At speed, they don't sound too bad. Pluses: the built in sun shield is wonderful. I wish I'd had one on my last helmet. All in all, I'd say you are getting what you pay for here, and are paying for what you get.

Comment: The helmet arrived timely. A bit tight in the ear sections, to accomodate the speakers. Also the mike was not affixed, but loose and took some time to locate a spot where it was not in the way but yet still functional. The Bluetooth function is a great feature and it linked to my iPhone easily. But even at it's highest volume level the speakers are too low to hear when traveling. All in all it is a good helmet for the money, but needs improvement when it comes to sound quality/volume.

Comment: This helmet has a lot of bang for the buck. It worked great at over 70mph... but only when tucked behind a windshield. This helmet has enough wind noise that I'm not sure it would work well at high speeds with no windshield. The speakers aren't high quality but they are good enough. The volume is also good. The helmet doesn't vent very well, but I usually ride with the visor up anyway so it doesn't matter much to me. Bottom line, expect this helmet to wear and operated like a 150 dollar helmet and you'll be happy. Compare it to a high end helmet and you'll of course be disappointed.

Comment: I ordered three. Two fit, one didn't. One had a defective bluetooth unit, but they graciously offered to send a replacement unit. Overall, I like the helmet, like the value.

Comment: I bought a Vega helmet without Bluetooth that was blue, then painted my bike orange. This lead me to sell the blue one and buy another. I wanted another Vega because the first was so comfortable. I stumbled upon the Vega with Bluetooth at $120 and snatched it right up. I am extremely happy with my helmet, my brother and several of my co-workers are jealous of my helmet. Very comfortable, Bluetooth works great and is more than loud enough.

Comment: Awesome helmet for the price. Easy to use with the iPhone 4 and 4s voice commands. Downfalls are ventilation, and sound quality. (fixed by splicing in my own higher quality headphone speakers) two helmets cannot listen to same device at same time however but not a big deal.

Comment: Thsi is a great helmet. I took the recommendations of other reviewers and ordered one size smaller. Normally take a Large in HJC helmets so I ordered a Medium Vega V-tunes. I must have an odd Size head but Medium was too small. Had to send back for a large which fits perfectly. Audio is great but the controls are kind of finniky with my samsung intensity. The Helmet will play music off the phone and answer calls perfectly. This was a great buy for me and recommend it highly if your looking for a bluetooth helmet. PS. also love the flip down sunvisor.

Comment: I bought this for my husband and he is thrilled. The helmet seems to be good quality except the speakers are not very loud, but they can be easily replaced. The connection is great and when he calls me I cannot tell he is on the bike. Great buy!!!

Comment: This is my first bluetooth helmet. I like this helmet. No more boring rides and missed calls. I enjoy my music while going long drives and also take calls. Shippig was very quick. I like the drop down sunshield inside. No more wearing uncomfortable sunglasses. When I try to switch off the helmet Bluetooth it redials the last made call. Need to be cautious with that. To avoid that I first turn off my cell phone blue tooth and then turn off the helmet bluetooth power. One improvement I suggest is the sound quality with music. Music quality is not good though It delivers good sound. But for the price, it is good deal.

Comment: I could not be more pleased with this helmet. The bluetooth and stereo aspect can't be beat for the price, I only regret I did not order my wifes helmet prior to the price getting raised $30. Still its a steal, everyone I show the helmet to wishes they had one. Sizing is larger than other full faces, about 1 size larger. My first helmet that actually doesn't irritate my forehead. A Must Buy!

Comment: Helmet works great. Sometimes a little hard to hear after 70mph if the other person volume not loud enough but my music i hear. I bought one for my GF & we can talk in the highway. Test at 75mph. Just need to speak clearly.

Comment: I bought this helmet with some trepidation, sound quality while riding ability to hear outside world while riding, etc. I'm here to say this helmet is great sound quality is good, ability to hear what is going on around you on the outside is great. only bad part is the face shield fogs up quickly but it's easily fixed too...

Comment: I traded this helmet out with my fulmer modular so that's what I am using for comparison. Size wise this helmet fits snugly at first and comfortably over time using the size chart. It syncs easily with my blackberry and plays okay. Best you can expect for small speakers and the price. The buttons are easily accessible even with gloved hands. I do find that when playing music I will have breaks in the play but cannot attribute that to the helmet alone. Voice calling over the helmet is capable at 30 MPH but about impossible over that. The helmet does have a slight wind noise and is did experience some water getting into the inside but it was a torrential downpour. Since I got this helmet on sale for 119 dollars I am more than pleased with the quality and functionality.

Comment: Look, this helmet gives you an awful lot of features for it's price point, but doesn't really rate five stars in any of those areas. The helmet itself is comfortable enough, although the clear visor doesn't seem to positively lock into position (shifts up and down with little effort). Drop down sunshield is a nice feature (I forget my sunglasses more than is good for me). Venting is ok, but appears to be basic. The Bluetooth is ok. Two speakers, but very tinny sound which becomes all but inaudible at higher speeds. I like the fact that the track selection controls are on the helmet, but have found that while wearing gloves it takes ALOT of practice before one becomes proficient in using the controls. Overall I don't regret my purchase one bit, there are areas for improvement but generally speaking this is a lot of helmet for the price.

Comment: Bought 2 flat black helmets for myself & my son for our trip to Sturgis Bike Rally. The helmets & the bluetooth worked awesome even at Interstate speeds of 80mph+. Also use it to listen to music and sports talk radio thru iphone, it works great for that also.

Comment: Well made. Good bang for the Buck. Unfortunately it didn't fit my head shape.It's an oval shape.Fits bigger than the size chart.I wish I could use it.I didn't get to try and setup the Bluetooth.

Comment: Most of the colors were sold out but am satisfied with the flat black. The padding inside is not as good as the HJC helmet I also own. My HJC is a large and the Vega is a medium and still feels loose. Wearing it over a bacalava will really make it slip all over the head. The Bluetooth works really well and the integrated sunshield is a real nice feature. There are only 2 controllable air vents - one just below the shield and the other just above the shield.

Comment: Bought for my wife, bluetooth was easy to set up, she can now listen to music without wires. Needless to say very happy with this product.

Comment: Pros: It has excellent call quality on the microphone (nobody could tell I was on my thumper, even with the visor up) and I could hear them on both ears clearly. The buttons are easy to access as are the face and forehead vents (nice flow). The fit was a bit loose as I ordered the wrong size, so gave to best friend. When I ordered a different brand, it synced up with this Vega's Bluetooth for intercom while riding. Works by single press on the main button on and off. There is a part of the lining under the chin that blocks wind from coming in from underneath. Neutrals (just observations). The two speakers for streaming music from my device was adequate. and I'm not looking for "Dre Beats" quality, but still wasn't impressed (and I have an equalizer on my device). The two panels along the bottom serve no purpose from what I saw (grips maybe from when you carry the helmet by hand?). Good battery life: did not have a chance to drain it, but it didn't drop power after about three hours of collective use as I only used it for some commuting or a half hour cruise. Con: The inner shade visor is stiff and loud on deploying and retracting. When is does come down, it feels like it'll thwack my nose if it could reach it. I would have liked a way to pause my music rather than long pressing to shut down helmet or volume down as much as I can to hear someone else. The microphone is on a short loose wire with velcro that attaches to some of the liner inside. This sometimes needs to be placed back on. I feel it should have been attached by some other means (stitching maybe).

Comment: This is the 3rd helmet of this kind we have purchased. He has now synced two of them so the passenger and he can speak. Also love the flip down "shades" if its too hot and you have the visor open.
