HJC FG-X Hammer Helmet.
The HJC FG-X Hammer Helmet is a sweet looking MX/Off-road helmet. The Hammer design is bold and will definitely stand out when put in a lineup of other helmets. The HJC FG-X is a middle priced Off-road/motocross helmet that is both SNELL and DOT approved. This helmet comes with the Advanced Channeling Ventilation System and all of the cheek pads for this model are interchangeable to get that custom fit. Also, this helmet has a completely removable and washable liner to help keep things smelling fresh after long hot days on the track.

HJC FG-X Helmet Sizing
Wrap a tape measure horizontally around your forehead. Select the helmet that is the closest fit to that size. A helmet should fit snug on your head. If it moves while wearing, it is too large. If it is painful to wear, it is too small.

The FG-X is another fine example of HJC's efforts to create helmets with many of the features of the pro level helmets, but at an affordable price. This lid is constructed using a Kevlar reinforced fiberglass composite shell and yet somehow the price has been kept under two hundred bucks. The Kevlar reinforcement has been strategically placed in high impact areas, the forehead area, both sides of the helmet in the center, and the rear of the helmet starting near the bottom of the crown. The FG-X has true pass through ventilation which isn't as common as you might think in helmets within this pricepoint. There's a total of six intakes including the main chin vent, two additional chinbar vents, two eyebrow vents, one top vent, and three exhaust vents to extract that hot humid air. What makes the ventilation pass through, is this channeling in the dual density eps. Pro riders Nate Adams and Kyle Chisholm both worked closely with HJC engineers to create this helmet and there are two areas where it's easy to tell that this helmet was developed by riders on a track , and not just just engineers in a lab. The first is the eyeport. Not only do you get a huge field of vision with this eyeport, but the shape of the opening, the contour of the shell, and the relationship between the eyeport and the breathguard allow the rider to wear almost any goggle on the market. The other is the liner. The fit of this helmet is definitely race snug, yet very comfortable. Even with my long oval headshape, I could wear this helmet all day no problem. The liner fabric is made using HJC's Silvercool technology. This material is wicking and antibacterial so your head stays relatively dry and your helmet won't smell like a raft guide's personal flotation device. They have also incorporated their new snap system which is made of a more durable material and is universally positioned, allowing the wearer to change out the cheekpads to optimize fit.
