For a lot of riders, myself included, a
motorcycle is the preferred method of transportation. Not all of our
destinations would find track level gear appropriate. That is why highly
functional gear wrapped in a casual clothing package is so popular. The Sidi
Doha boot is a perfect example of a capable piece of motorcycle riding equipment
wrapped in a casual package for the real world.
The Doha is all black with very subtle branding that is mostly covered by your
pants. There is a reflective stripe across the back but honestly, in the US you
probably won't see it. We must wear a more relaxed fit pant than our European
riding buddies. The upper is made of suede with these breathable synthetic
panels. The boot is a little heavier than a modern sneaker but that is a result
of having a more substantial sole than you would find on a regular shoe. This
non slip sole contains a composite footbed. This is where some of the
motorcycling functionality starts to come into play. This footbed allows the
boot to be flexible in ways you want a boot to be flexible, but is very rigid
from side to side to help protect your foot from some of the potential perils of
riding. Also for added foot protection, this boot has a reinforced toebox and
heelcup. A suede shifter panel adds to the longevity of the Doha while the
covered lace holes and Velcro strap provide a precise, secure fit. The interior
of the Doha is lined with air Teflon mesh and features a Cambrelle covered sole.
Again, the Sidi Doha is a great choice for a rider looking for a top level
riding boot in a casual street package.
