The canyon is very similar to the Onroad but with some added features. First, You have the features that are familiar on a Sidi touring boot. You have a full leather upper, a reinforced toe box with a shifter pad, a reinforced heel cup, and the incorporated ankle protection. What makes this boot fancy, is the caliper micrometric buckle. Many foot injuries are caused by the toes getting mooshed into the toe of the boot. This buckle prevents that. To operate the buckle you simply insert the strap into the buckle and push. For fine adjustment you can press this black tab. To loosen the strap completely, simply pull up on the silver tabs and remove the strap from the buckle. If you open the boot up, you can see the water proof gusset and the top of the liner containing the Gortex membrane. There is no finer waterproof membrane in existence right now. Many companies have tried to duplicate it and they will all admit that they can duplicate the waterproof characteristics, but not the breathability. Gortex allows water vapor out but does not allow water droplets in. Also on the Canyon is a reinforced shin pad and reflective piping above the heel . The sole of the Canyon is a little stiff but is very comfortable for riding in. It's not a great all day walking shoe though.
