Comment: I'm on my fifth or sixth cover now for three different bikes: a 2004 Honda 599, 2002 Harley Sportster 883 and a 2002 Honda Shadow 650. I live in sun-country -- South Florida. The covers work great, but if left in the sun for most of the day will eventually rot. I get about 2 years for each cover in full sun exposure allday. Dowco does offer a lifetime warranty on these covers that will replace them if they deteriorate like this. I haven't attempted to warranty any of mine yet however, my uncle has with no troubles. I would gladly buy again. One thing to note, Dowco recommends a large cover for the stock Sportster, however I ordered an x-large and it's perfectly snug. I can't imagine trying to squeeze it into a large -- that's just asking for a rip in the cover. All other recommended sizing has been spot on though.

Comment: This cover is thick, sturdy and perfectly water repellent...now if only the neighbors cat didn't love it too I'd be perfectly happy.

It's not machine washable so if you have an evil cat in your neighborhood to clean the cover you need to soak it in cold water and a gallon of vinegar.

Your best bet is to spray it with cat repellent right when you get it though.

Comment: I have a touring motorcycle and a custom type motorcycle currently and have been riding for twenty seven years. In those twenty-seven years, I have had various types of motorcycles and have had to store them in various enviornmental conditions depending on where I lived at the time. One thing that has remained constant is the care and attention I give to my motorcycles. My wife accuses me of treating my bikes better than her and the kids. One time I made that poor choice to use a cover other than Dowco to save a few dollars. This was a mistake I won't make again.
I love the Dowco covers because they hold up to various weather conditions and withstand the tormenting sun and heat of the sun in the Southeast. The covers have a soft pad in the windshield area to keep from scratching your windshield if that is a concern. This pad also helps me to get the placement of the cover exactly where I want it each time. The elastic bottom keeps a snug fit along the bottom of the bike and helps to keep the wind from blowing it off. It also has plastic grommets along the bottom to use a bungee strap to hold the cover on should the wind get extremely severe. I like the plastic grommets because it keeps you from scratching your pride and joy. The cover also keeps dust off of the bikes when I have them in the workshop, which is where they stay when I'm not riding them. I ONLY trust DOWCO covers to cover my bikes and I refuse to use or recommend any other substandard cover. If you care anything about your bike and want it to last and continue to look good, Dowco is your cover indoors or outdoors.

Comment: I bought this for my husband for his Harley Softail. I had gotten him a cover several months ago but returned it due to the low quality feel. I had read before about how hard it was to tell if it was was the front or the back of the cover, but it has a tag on it to help! Went on with ease and off with ease. Next, folding that cover up to fit in the bag it came in. Well, much to our delight, it folded easily and fit into his bag without any problems. Now, when he is at work and a storm blows up, he can pop on his cover and keep his bike protected.
