This is Scorpion's new winter glove, the TSW. I'm excited to try these out.
We still have a few more months before I would need a cold weather glove but
when I do these are definitely taking a trip with me to the mountains. These
gloves have some really nice features. The thumb and index finger will operate
the touch screen of a smart phone.
Scorpion calls this
KwikTouch. I can't see any difference between the leather of these two fingers
and the rest of the leather so I did a little research. Turns out it's magic.
The fit of these gloves is still a little European. My hand is definitely
filling up this glove up in the palm area but you can see I have quite a bit
left over in the fingers. Believe it or not this is not a deal breaker for me.
There's not a whole lot of finger tip needed while riding a
motorcycle. It might make
gps manipulation a little tough, though. These gloves are made of goatskin
leather and 600 denier nylon and the TSW's have a precurved shape. This reduces
the amount of material that gets bunched up between your hand and the grip. This
reduces fatigue because you don't have to squeeze the grip as hard. While we're
on the palm, you can see the padding on the ball of the hand, the double layered
textured leather in areas where you need more grip, the wrist strap, the pull
tab, the gauntlet strap, and a water resistant gaiter to keep the wet out. There
is also a stretch panel in the knuckle of the thumb. Flip the glove over and you
can see the padded fingers with stretch panels in the knuckles of the index and
middle fingers, the armored knuckle area and the NightViz reflective trim. These
gloves have a fantastic liner. The material against your skin is called Bemburg.
It's anti static and anti cling, wicking, and very comfortable. You get 100g
thinsulate to keep your little digits warm and a breathable hypora membrane to
keep the water out. The only feature I would have liked to see on these gloves
that is missing is the ever popular thumb wiper. They're really handy for
clearing of a face shield in lousy weather.
Again, I will definitely be thoroughly testing these gloves this winter and I
will certainly let you know how that goes.
