I had to cut them to length, but she put them on and told me they were very comfortable, and not too heavy. Time will tell if they hold up, but the seams and construction seem quality and well made. I would recommend these to anyone. I may just go ahead and buy a 2nd pair for myself and replace my old ones.

Comment: I received my quality leather chaps in record time being on the west coast. I grew out of my older ones that I had paid $150 for in Calif. at a leather shop What a great deal. Can't believe they are the same quality as my original ones but they are. Nice heavy leather like my vest I bought from here & a new jacket I just ordered. Need to have good gear to slide on if John Q Public decides to make you lay these cruisers down unexpectantly. Too old to bleed like the old days!

Comment: WOW! I expected cheap, unline leather. These are heavy, lined, solid chaps that have already done 1000 miles in the weather for me. I would recommend to anyone! They run just a Smidge big, but the roominess is perfect on the highway. GET A PAIR! You won't be sorry.

Comment: I wasn't sure I even wanted a pair of chaps, but the price was so low on these I decided to try them. These are very good quality, the fit is perfect (no flapping at any speed), zippers and snaps work flawlessly. At this price, UNBELIEVABLE!

Comment: I wear 34 x34 Levis and my thigh measured 24.5 so I went with the XL and the waist fits comfortably on the smallest setting and the length is perfect, even with knee bent in riding position.

Comment: I measured right at the break for the lg and xl size. I figured from reading the review to go the xl size. They are a bit loose in the leg but when sitting on the bike they are comfy. Being in Fl I am not sure how much I will wear them but I got them after the first of the year and wore the heck out of them with this long winter we had. Fit is great, easy to trim excess. Snaps work great and leather looks as good as the $200+ ones I saw at bike week. Only thing that has me worried is the zippers on the side. They are alum and just seem hard to make slide if slightly in a bind, like at your knee. They are every bit as nice as the chaps I had to buy the wife at bike week to get her home. Did I mention it was COLD. lol Paid twice for hers what I paid for these. Wish Id have know I could have saved enough for dinner.

Comment: I bought a pair of these about 6-7 years ago and wear them often. Sizing chart is excellent. I'm just now starting to see a thread or two coming loose at the bottom where I trimmed them!!! I told my parent about you guys and they each bought a pair too, and they love them. You guys are the first place I look when purchasing anything leather.

The fit is perfect! My thigh measured 23 1/2" and I went with a large. I was able to compare these cowhide chaps (LC401) with some of Jafrums other "premium" cowhide chaps and saw no difference, so I saved myself about $20 and went with these. The quality of leather is very good. You can't go wrong with these chaps...especially at this price. I'm very impressed!!

Comment: Needed some new chaps for horseback riding. I have large thighs so I would have had to make them myself or pay top dollar and buy them custom made. I didn't especially want black but that is the only thing I didn't like about these chaps. I cut out the anti stretch mesh sewn into the upper leg and easily cut the length to fit. The chaps are well made and everything that was promised in the product description. The seams where pieces of leather were joined were well done and did not interfere with my legs in the saddle. They stretched out slightly when I removed the nylon liner, something I planned on. They now fit like custom made. I suspect they might bleed in the rain so I usually wear them with black jeans. I'm very pleased with this company, its service, its prices and selection of sizes.

Comment: I think these will work great. I measured at 25.5. So being in the middle there I went up 2 just to have abit on the high side instead of being to tight. I probably could have went up just on size, but I'm happy. Only thing I see that might be a problem is the zippers are a heavy aluminum type zipper, but it should be fine. Mesured for the cut off sitting on the bike and went a bit on the long side. Fit is perfect.

Comment: Couldn't be more impressed with these. I'm tall (6'5") and lanky, and I was worried about the length (I have a 36" inseam), but needlessly so. The look, length and fit are great, though I would recommend adding maybe an inch or two on top of what the sizing guide recommends, as they're just a little snug in the thigh with heavier pants. Great product, great price.

Comment: Another great product from Jafrum! I measured at 26", ordered one size up at a 2XL and am very pleased. The chaps are nice and snug, but not too tight where movement is restricted. Used them for the first time on a chilly hour and a half ride without any complaints. This is my third purchase from Jafrum and couldn't be happier with their prices and super-fast shipping. The leather is heavy and supple, and the hardware heavy duty as well. You couldn't begin to purchase the leather to make your own chaps at this price. This is my third purchase with Jafrum (modular helmet and textile armored jacket) and I'll always start here when shopping for my riding gear.

Comment: Have known about Jafrum for a while, but have been reluctant to buy off the website because the abusurdly low prices had me suspicious. Went to Americade in Lake George a couple weeks ago and recognized a ton of stuff off of their website with prices marked sky high and great quality; I decided I would be stupid not to take advantage of the websites deals! I wasn't disapointed, these chaps are great quality and the price is truly unreal. Only downer is I have big legs and a 4xl fits perfect on them, but they are too big around for my 36" waist, but I will be glad to put another grommet in the waist band...I'll wair a belt until I do!

Living in Florida there aren't many cold days/nights and I didn't want to spend a lot on a pair of chaps so I ordered a pair of these. I'm 5'2'/124 lbs and went with a size medium, then adjusted the back ties to fit my waist and they very fit well over medium thickness jeans. I am very happy with my purchase from Jafrum. :)

I have 28" thighs and odered 2 sizes up as suggested and swam in the chaps. Returned them (very easy process) and ordered the 3xl which fit perfectly. Comment: I don't know how Jafrum does it with the price to value equasion but I like it. I just got these today by Fed Ex and it only took 3 days to get here. I opened to box and was amazed how they feltl in the hands and then I looked at the zipper and I can't believe it is made of metal (not the cheap plastic) When you zip it up you know they are on to stay. Comment: I ordered these at 4pm on a monday and they arrived at 8am on tuesday! I couldn't believe the super fast shipping! I was a little worried because I'd measured my thigh while i was wearing shorts, but I still added 2 inches (original size said I was an XS, so I ordered Large) - they fit perfectly. With jeans on they move well and slide when i sit, no binding at all. It took a couple of zips to get the zippers broken in, but a little WD-40 on them and now they slide effortlessly. i cut about 2½ inches off each leg and they are perfect. I can't praise these highly enough. Already pushed them onto a freiend to try out! 59 bucks after shipping and they are just as good as the $200 set I looked at the weekend prior.

Comment: I've looked at economical chaps for two years--at bike shows, rallies, outlets. I've never seen any better than these, even at twice the price. The weight of the leather is remarkable. It's soft and nicely textured with a slight wrinkle to the finish, rather than the flat, stiff finish of many $69 chaps. The side zippers are heavy-guage and strong. I showed mine to a rinding buddy. He insisted on trying them on, and he immediately ordered a pair in the same size. My thigh measured 25". I have a 31" inseam. The chart says "Large," so I went up one size to XL. I had to cut off an inch and a half (including the bottom snap, and the fit is absolutely perfect. These chaps are a real bargain. Oh yeah... they arrived at my door about twenty minutes after I placed the order. (Well, that's how it seemed, anyway.) Many thanks, Jafrum.

Comment: two days from online order to arrival at my front door. i wear 34x34 dickies jeans, and have 26" thighs at maximum, and the xl chaps fit. didn't have to cut to inseam, they were also the right length. there are several possible adjustments at the back of the waist, and four belt loops on the front, so the chaps would fit a range of waist sizes. leather is thick and grainy (as it should be), and seems fair to good quality. zippers appear to be heavy duty, as well as the snaps. for $44.95, they're a steal. very happy so far.

Still they will provide a lot of needed protection should I need it! I don't think there is a better buy for my dollar. The Pros out weigh the cons. Order one size larger than recommended. Comment: I wear chaps for protection, not style. Based on the bug splats and the rock marks, these are doing the job very well. I can't imagine spending more for chaps. These are a great price, heavy leather, well lined, and they trim off easily. Do yourself a favor and leave them a little long. I leave the bottom snap undone. They stay put and protect my boots that way. If these ever wear out (doubtful) I will buy them again.

Comment: Read all of the reviews, measured my thighs and ordered up 1 size. Big mistake!! two ways!! I wasn't in a big hurry so I did not do the reorder and return separate as Jafrum suggested on packing slip, just returned to exchange for the correct size. But they are nice chaps for the price, kept my legs really warm on a cool autumn day ride :) My advice for women is to order your correct size.

Comment: Not only are these chaps priced right, they are pretty good quality. I agree with the posts that point out the skimpy belt and buckle and the aluminum zipper. I'm thinking of coating the zipper with candle wax to lube it up a bit.
