The Scorpion SGS gloves are constructed using the same high grade materials,
using the same attention to detail, as the
SG3 racing gloves, but without the gauntlet, making these a great choice for
aggressive street riding. If you are looking for a premium race glove with a
full gauntlet, don’t forget to check out the Scorpion SG3’s on our website.
These gloves come in five colorways including this neon pair. You also have the
choice of white, red, blue, or black. The fit is a pretty standard American cut
and their available in sizes small thru triple xl. I typically wear between a
medium and a large depending on the brand. These SGS’s are larges, and while I
like the feel in the fingers, the palms have just a little too much extra
material. I would go down to a medium pair, knowing that this soft leather is
going to break in some.
These SGS gloves are equipped with a top grain leather chassis and a kangaroo
leather palm with a Kevlar patch on the inside. The palm also features the Knox
SPS sliders. SPS stands for Scaphoid Protection System. The scaphoid is a bone
in the hand that is commonly injured when a rider’s gloves stick to the asphalt
on contact. These little sliders help the gloves to glide across the asphalt,
which also helps to keep you from tumbling. While we’re looking at the palm, you
can also see the reinforced areas with Kevlar stitching, and the externally
stitched finger assembly that makes the gloves really comfortable.
If you flip the SGS gloves over, you can see the articulated panel that promotes
flexibility and ventilation, and also houses the TPU knuckle protection.
Protection for the fingers comes in the way of these Superfabric covered pads.
In addition to the flex area in the knuckles, ventilation also comes from light
perforation in the fingers.
