Ok It wasn't my first choice but I am glad I got it. There was enough room for my wife's crap makeup curling iron etc etc and all of my clothes plus my laptop for 4 days at daytona and still enough room for the trip back with all of the stuff we bought there.

"As Good As It Gets!!"

"Just received my leather sissy bar bag in the mail yesterday. The fit for my 2000 Road Star is FANTASTIC! There's tons of room in this bag with the expansion area unzipped. Plenty of pockets all around, and with all the straps, there's no way that this bag will ever come undone. I roll up my bike cover and strap it to the bottom front of this bag, and it makes a perfect lumbar support for those long rides!! Would highly recommend this bag!!"

"Great bag"

"I own a C109R with a 'Zuki sissy bar. I needed to have 2" extra materialo sewn into the sleeve to fit over the backrest, but other than that limitation, the bag is incredibly large. I frequently grocery shop on my bike -- it'll handle about 6 (plastic) bags of groceries packed well!"

"Jafrum is the best"

by - verified purchaser
"I bought this bag earlier in the year and have used it 3 times. Each time, I didn't have enough stuff to put in it - it's huge! Used it and the rain cover on a 300 mile trip where it rained the whole way, and the rain cover worked flawlessly - everything was dry. I saw this same bag at a rally and it was listed for twice the price. If you need a good quality bag that holds lots of stuff, do yourself a favor and don't pass this one up. Another great product from Jafrum. I will continue to recommend you to all my biker friends."

"Man the size is unreal you can take anything with you. I go on a five day trip and put all my clothes in it plus an air mattres and two soft collers, and on the out side i strap my sleeping bag , 4 man tent and my chair . with all the straps and diffrent locations to strap it down its easy to hold it all and safley get it all together on the bike. and that rain cover has come very handy several times , and the one thing that realy makes this bag better than some of those expensive ones my buddies have is those nice sized side pockets (4) where you can store things where they can quikly be had if needed like a map, phone, beverage, and that rain cover."

Sissy bar bags are a great way to add a very large amount of easily removable storage to your bike. There are numerous different sizes, materials, and mounting options available, so there is sure to be one to suit your needs.

This is the cowhide leather version of the SB1 style bag and is available in black. The top roll bag is included at no additional charge as is a full coverage rain cover.

Now, I’m not going to go over every single pocket and zipper on this thing. There’s too much. There are some really good photos on the listing if you need a better look from a certain angle. What I want to do for you is show you some of the unique features and more importantly how the mounting system works. Also, there are some key features that this bag does not have on purpose, so we can look at those and give you something to look for and think about so you can pick the best backrest bag for you.

The most important thing to remember with motorcycle luggage, especially sissy bar bags, is that there really isn’t a wrong way to mount them. These bags come with a ton of mounting options, some of which you may not be able to use on your particular motorcycle, and that’s ok. You may even come up with an arrangement that the manufacturer hasn’t even thought of. Basically, if the bag is secure, it’s mounted correctly.

The main component to the mounting system on the SB1 Leather is this laced sleeve. Simply fit this sleeve over the backrest and tighten and you’re most of the way there. There are numerous straps and clips covering the outside that can be used however necessary. The only limitation is your imagination. I like to use them to secure frequently used items, like raingear, an extra sweatshirt or vest, or even a tent. If you use a luggage rack, take note of the weight capacity. If you are over the limit, no big deal. Mount the bag backwards and set it on the seat. Depending on your riding position, you may have just created yourself a comfy little backrest of your own.

To mount the supplementary roll bag simply feed the mounting straps through the roll bag straps and connect using the buckles. The cool thing about this strap system is that you don’t have to put the roll bag here if you don’t want to. It’s also the perfect spot for your bed roll or sleeping bag. Still need more room for even more junk? Not to worry. The main bag expands to almost 200% of its original depth by unzipping this full circumference zipper.

One of the features this bag doesn’t have that some riders like is an internal frame of some sort to make the bag rigid. There is actually some benefit to this in certain situations. I often find that I return from trips with way more stuff than when I left, especially if I have visited with friends or family. Because this bag has no internal frame, it can be rolled up and stowed in a saddlebag until it’s needed. If you prefer a rigid bag, but don’t want to spend upwards of three hundred dollars to get one, simply place a small rectangular container like a garbage can inside the bag to create a rigid sissy bar bag.

Another feature included with this piece of luggage is the complementary rain cover. It rolls up small enough to fit into one of the small exterior pockets but is large enough to fit over not just the bag but almost anything you may have attached to the outside of it. If you don’t have anything on the outside of the bag to fill up the cover, be sure to wrap some bungies of some sort around the cover to keep the wind from tearing it up. I personally like to use two cargo nets. It’s ugly, but it works really well.

Needed a good sissy bar bag for occasional short trips. This is a fine quality bag.

This has turned out to be a great bag. It is easy to get on and off the back rest. It holds alot of stuff. I got caught in a down pour, the rain cover held up and my gear was dry. It does wobble a bit but i wrap bunggies around it and everything is fine

Good price, good size, good material

will this bag work on a shorter back rest?
A shopper on Dec 28, 2014
Best Answer:I have what I could call a mid-height back rest and it would fit height but wouldn't expand wide enough to fit the wide base of my back rest. I end up using a couple of bungee cargo nets.

What is the difference between the SB1 and SB1PU bag??
A shopper on May 4, 2015
Best Answer:SB1PU is polyurethane material not real leather.
Reply · Report · Hugh H on May 6, 2015
is this real leather?
A shopper on Apr 16, 2015
Best Answer:Yes, it is real leather and it's a very good grade of leather. Thick yet very soft. This bag is worth 200.00 at the Harley shop and I think Jafrum is a better bag. Looks great on my road king. Buy it, you'll love it

How long is strap that holds bags onto sissy bar? I have large sissy bar with back rest.
A shopper on Dec 1, 2014
Best Answer:First, this bag is absolutely awesome. High grade leather and workmanship. Soft, supple and big enough to pack for 2 for a week trip. People don't believe me when I tell them how much I paid. I could have sold this bag 10 times over for 100.00 more than I paid. This bag at Harley would sell for 300.00. Next, My road king has a very wide backrest for the passenger so the fitment was a little short. I chose to install another row of eyelets into a section of leather I sewed to the existing factory material thus making it able to fit even the widest of backrest mount options. The other way is to use a bungee or two to hold it in place. I would recommend this bag as it will fit almost any application. You'll have to spend 6 times as much elsewhere. I hope this helps you out. BTW....Jafrum, please do not increase the price of this bag as I have many riders who are going to order the same one. Thanks for the great service and delivery was faster than estimated.

is this bag waterproof?
A shopper on Mar 29, 2015
Best Answer:The bag is not waterproof but they include a rain cover with the purchase. This bag is surprisingly large and can hold 4 to 5 days of clothes and other items. The only thing I didn't like about it is the stiching on the straps could be more robust but it works very well for the price.
