Love this jacket. My second Vega product and I am 2 for 2 happy. This jacket has more features than you can shake a spoke at. Great in hot or cold with zip out warm liner. Without liner mesh really lets the air through for cool comfort. Armor pieces remote for cleaning and a rain wind breaker that is zipper attached and shows up in azzipper pocketing the back. It can be worn alone as a wind breaker. Embroidered Vega on waist band in back looks nice. VERY high quality gear. If you get it I bet you'll like it.

Great Jacket-I used the measurement chart and then went one size bigger and the jacket fits perfectly. With real hot weather take out the lining and the wind will keep you cool. Put the lining back in for slightly cooler weather and you will still be comforable while riding in the trees in the evening. Haven't had to use the rain cover.
This jacket is great!!! If you are looking for an all season jacket, this is a great buy.
It is good quality and fit to my body also not long waiting for order. It received within two weeks.
The worst thing I can say about this jacket is I wish it had sn external pocket or two. It fits well using the chart and fit recomendations. I have used the rain cover for cold weather riding and it is indeed windproof. On a 35 degree morning on the expressway at 70 miles per, I was comfortable. without the outer shell, the wind flows through pretty well, even through the inner thermal liner. It will be gloriously cool on hot summer days.
Bought 2 in the black & gray. One for husband and on for myself. The fit was great for me a lot more room than the female version not so form fitting with a few adjustments in the arms with the Velcro straps and I was happy! Great jackets for the price! Have worn them in cool weather 34 and warm 83 and loved them. Jafrum you are now my best place to buy my gear! Love You Guys
Just love this jacket. Got here in under 2 days. Order a larger jacket size like everyone else recommends. Shell allows you to ride in comfort even in 32-55 degree weather. W/out shell from 55-70ish weather. W/out liner from 75+ weather. For the price you can't beat it!
i bought this jacket and i love it it's great i have no complaints at all in fact my first jacket was the red one then i loved it so much i got the blue and silver one, my order was receive within a week. thank you.
Great fit, Love the red accents for visibility to traffic , not to mention the armor. Another awesome jacket from Jafrum at an unbelievable price.
This Vega jacket is more than I had hoped for. It's comfortable, warm, and flexible. The armor is so well-designed that its presence is virtually forgotten. Sizing is consistent with other clothing, and I believe the durability is great. Pockets galore, and the jacket keeps it shape. I bought this jacket as a first purchase and would buy another.
The jacket is good at the sale price. The quality is not as good as the other brand like Joe Rocket. The pads are thinner and the zipper is weeker, however, the rain protection is on the outside over the mesh jacket. This makes the jacket dry when the rain stops, also the mesh jacket has a place to store the rain cover so it is always with you. Over all buy the jacket and have a good year on the road.
This is great, good for warm weather & cold weather down to 45 degrees.
Fast shipping, excellent jacket. Warm down to 40 degrees with the liner in and so far up to 80 degrees without the liner no problems. Size runs a little small so order one size up. Had to exchange the first one but as always Jafrum comes through with great customer service.
Bought this for my husband. Great value!
Twice as much jacket than others costing much more. Very well made, good quality, the rain cover is an extra! Buy one size larger than you might normally wear, otherwise, this is a very nice, good looking and well made jacket.
The light weight and mesh design helps a lot in FL's weather! The extra (removable) layer on the inside makes it worm to wear at night. The protective cushion is very well placed and they can be removed easily. Size-wise, the chart is accurate but you can't go wrong with one size bigger.
Great Jacket. Very cool when running in high 80-90 deg. temps. Like riding in a Tee shirt, but with protection. For the $$ it really can't be beat with the thermal liner and exterior rain shell, which makes a great wind breaker on cooler evenings.
Love these jackets we got two one for me and the wife. Both of us love them and feel that they are better than jackets that we have paid 3 times as much for. Run true to size and about 10,000 miles of use and the still look like new.
Jacket is a bit too snug with liner. However I ordered it for hot summer riding. Removed liner fits great! The armor is a bit thin feeling but lightweight. The only issue is the adjustable strap clip at the elbow pinches into my elbow when strapping helmet.
I can’t lie, this Merit jacket from Vega surprised me a little bit. For a fully armored motorcycle riding jacket at this low of a price, you come to not expect very much. In fact, you come to not expect anything at all. At first glance, this jacket looks like what you’d expect, the one hundred percent polyester shell is predictably a little coarse feeling, and the tall, heavily padded collar looks like a poor choice on what initially appears to be a jacket designed only for hot weather. But, then, you start to look closer at the features and there’s a lot of good things going on here.
The first thing I noticed is that all of the closures feature quality SBS zippers. Zippers are usually the first thing to go on any value priced or entry level jacket. You won’t have to worry about that with the Merit. In looking at the zippers, I also noticed that all of the seams are double stitched. Not bad.
The protection offered by the Merit is also actually quite good. What the jacket gives up in tensile strength with its polyester shell, it more than makes up for by having full CE armor in not just the shoulders and elbows, but in the back as well. Most mesh jackets offer just a foam back pad. You also get a zippered attachment in the rear to connect a pair of riding pants. Even this feature is well thought out. Vega used a strong but flexible material to tendon the zipper to the jacket to keep the zipper from ripping out of the polyester in a crash. They have also added high viz piping effectively to the jacket to increase visibility at night.
Adjustability is more than sufficient. Most waist adjustment, if there is any, on a jacket in this price point, will consist of nothing more than a hook and loop strap, which we do see here. But, on the Merit, it’s accompanied by a stretch panel and an expandable zippered gusset. You have adjusters on the sleeves, which are extra important on a mesh jacket to reduce buffeting, and hook and loop gusseted cuffs that are lined with a soft material so the polyester shell doesn’t touch your skin
The next feature I’m going to show you is what really impressed me about this jacket. Most mesh jackets will offer some sort of removable, waterproof zip out liner; and, while these do work to keep you dry, they do nothing to keep the shell of your jacket dry. Plus, if the liner is not installed, and it begins to rain, you could be soaked by the time you get the jacket off, liner installed, and jacket back on. If you do manage to get the liner installed before the rain comes, you are still stuck with water logged gear when you reach your destination. Enter Vega’s Amphitex system. The Merit hides a zip off, waterproof, windproof, and breathable shell in this little pocket in the back. With a little practice, you can get this shell out of its pocket and put on in just a few seconds, without taking the jacket off. Now, not only do you not have to take your jacket off to install a liner, but now you can arrive at your destination without a water logged jacket to deal with.
Lastly we see the removable, quilted thermal liner. With most mesh jackets, these are one hundred percent completely and totally useless. Without a windproof shell, a thermal liner has little or no chance at actually retaining any body heat. With the Amphitex shell installed, though, this liner will keep you comfortable with a light base layer under it down to about 50 degrees. Heavy layering could take you well below that. Not too shabby for a value priced mesh jacket.
I’m not sure just how this email thing works in regards to replying back to you all at Jafrum, But I just wanted to say thanks for answering my question regarding the Vega Merit Mesh Jacket for all seasons. It’s a shame that Vega no longer makes this jacket. It was perfect for me, and just what I was wanting. However I did go forth, and I purchased the Vega Mercury Mesh Jacket from you at Jafrum. I can hardly wait to get it. I will keep checking your site to see if anything else should come in. I am on your mailing list, so I do get notices… Again I thank you for the help.
