Speed And Strength Urge Overkill Waterproof Gloves Reviews:
The Urge Overkill line is
Strength's feature packed all weather line and includes a SS2500 helmet
graphic, a jacket, gloves, and pants. They've added style to an often bland
touring apparel segment. These garments are aggressively styled yet highly
functional. The Urge Overkill glove fits in this line just perfectly.
These gloves are fully waterproof and are available in black only. They have
reflective piping on the top and reflective text on both the top of the wrist
and the adjustable gauntlet strap. On most gloves in the SS brand I would say to
order a size smaller than you would on a European manufactured glove but with
this particular inclement weather glove you want to make sure to leave room for
a liner. These aren't insulated so you would need a heated liner to wear these
in cold weather and will need the extra room. There are a couple features on
this glove I really like. It doesn't matter how waterproof a glove material is
if you can't keep the water from running down your sleeve into the glove. Having
a cinch-able gauntlet is a great way to achieve this. This glove has a really
handy closure system. By attaching the closure mechanism to the glove
independently from the stretch cord, you are able to tighten and loosen the cuff
of the glove with one, gloved hand. This can be very handy at toll booths and
gas pumps. The other very handy feature that I'm happy to see popping up on
multiple glove brands is the thumb wiper. Until helmet manufacturers develop a
way to remove water, ice, mud, etc from a face shield while riding, the thumb
wiper remains the best way to maintain a clear view when it's lousy outside. As
far as protection goes, The Urge Overkill has soft, protective pads on the top
of the wrist and fingers and on the palm and thumb. There is a flexible knuckle
protector and leather reinforced fingertips. The palm is made of leather with
synthetic reinforced panels in the high wear areas.
