Alpinestars’ has 6 new or updated gloves this Fall. The first is the Moto GP proven GP Tech race glove. This glove comes in 4 color ways and 6 sizes, s-3xl. The GP TEch is constructed using a combination of cowhide and kangaroo leather for a super strong yet comfortable fitting glove. The fingers are protected by multiple layers of material and foam pads at the tips and TPU sliders closer to the hand. The pinky and ring fingers are splinted together like many of the gloves in A-stars lineup. This dramatically reduces pinky injuries by holding it against the hand. The pinky is also protected by the K-tech Kevlar internal lining. The fingers also feature these flex panels for increased mobility and reduced fatigue. The Dynamic Friction Shield, or DFS system on the knuckle protector reduces friction by sculpting these blade-like portions into the design. The reduced surface area reduces heat in a slide, allowing the protector to stay intact as long as possible to provide maximum protection. Ventilation has also been incorporated right into this slider system. On the palm of the glove you can see the reinforced and articulated thumb and the TPU sliders on the balls of the hand. The wrist is adjustable using this hook and loop strap and the gauntlet features a wrap-around, low profile TPU slider to protect your wrist bones. Inside the glove, you can see the Kevlar lining that covers the back of the hand, wrist, and thumb.
The next glove in the lineup is the GPX Leather Glove. This glove is designed to be a light duty track day glove, or the top of the line glove on the street. The GPX comes in 4 color ways and 6 sizes, s-3xl. It’s constructed using a combination of leather, suede, and perforated leather panels to offer the maximum protection and comfort. The fingers are protected by multiple layers of leather and foam backed pads in the tops of the fingers. The joints of the fingers have stretch panels and the pinky gets extra protection from this bridge and TPR slider. The knuckle protector features the same DFS design and has a shape similar to the protector on the GP Tech and has ventilation incorporated right into the slider. The carpals are protected by a foam pad as is the ulna. On the palm you can see the reinforced panel that extends on to thumb which is protected by a foam pad and is made flexible by this stretch panel. The balls of the hand are protected by reinforced panels that feature a foam pad and a TPU slider on the outside of the hand. The wrists are adjustable using this hook and loop strap.
Next, we have the Scheme Kevlar glove. This glove is a warm weather street glove that does a great job of keeping your hands cool, but still incorporates high levels of protection. The Scheme is available in three colors and six sizes including s-3xl. The top of the glove is constructed using synthetic suede and 3D mesh panels. The fingers have expandable joint seams and reinforced fingernail areas. The knuckles are protected by this foam pad and carbon fiber insert. The top of the hand is vented and the wrist features a hook and loop adjuster. The palm of the hand is constructed using Clarino with polyurethane reinforcements. The thumb is reinforced with synthetic suede and features an expandable joint seam for reduced fatigue. If you look inside the Scheme you can see the Kevlar reinforcement for the palm of the hand.
The next three new gloves are all part of Alpinestars’ new Extrafit line. These are all designed with a fuller cut to accommodate American sizing. They are touring style gloves and all three versions feature a Gore-Tex waterproof, breathable membrane.
The first is the full grain leather version, the Archer. This is a top of the line touring glove that is very flexible and comfortable but provides the highest levels of protection available on a non-race glove. They come in sizes s-3xl and are available in two colorways; this all black version and a black and fluorescent yellow model. The fingers have reinforced leather panels with foam pads and the knuckles have stretch panels for flexibility. The pinky is splinted to the ring finger and gets extra protection from this reinforced panel. The PU knuckle protectors have the race proven DFS design with intake ventilation. The top of the hand has a stretch panel and the cuff features a TPR A-star logo slider. The palm of the hand features reinforced panels in high impact areas that extend onto the thumb which is also padded and flexible. The balls of the hand are protected by a padded layer of leather and a TPU slider. The wrist and cuff of the Archer are adjustable using these hook and loop straps.
Next, we have the GT-S glove. This is a slightly simpler glove than the Archer and has a little bit less protection worked into the glove but is slightly lower in profile as a result. This all-weather riding glove is made of a combination of leather and textile and comes in 2 colorways and 6 six sizes, s-3xl. The tops of the fingers are leather with foam pads for protection. The material in between the fingers is textile for light weight and dexterity. The fingers feature stretch panels and the pinky is bridged to the ring finger. The PU knuckle protector is covered with leather and the top of the hand has a flex panel. The gauntlet is made of mixed material and features protective padding and a large TPR A-star logo. The palm of the GT-S features a reinforced area that extends onto the padded and reinforced thumb. The ball of the hand is reinforced with synthetic suede and a foam pad, and adjustability is facilitated by these hook and loop straps on the wrist and cuff.
Last but certainly not least is the textile Equinox glove. This is going to be the Gore-Tex waterproof glove for the rider that wants the least amount of bulk possible without sacrificing all of the protective features. This glove is available in black only and the standard 6 sizes. The fingers are protected by foam pads and have high viz inserts in the flex seams. The pinky and ring finger are bridged and feature a subtle A-star logo. The knuckles are protected by a PU slider that is bonded to its textile covering. There is high-viz piping and a flex panel on the top of the hand and a subtle Alpinestars monogram on the cuff. The palm of the hand is made of leather and the reinforced panel extends onto the thumb. The balls of the hand feature reinforced synthetic suede panels with pads and there are hook and loop adjusters at the wrist and on the cuff.
