How to Measure a proper helmet SIZING: To measure your head size, wrap a tape measure horizontally around your forehead. Select the helmet that is the closest fit to that size. A helmet should fit snug on your head. If it moves while wearing, it is too large. If it is painful to wear, it is too small. For proper sizing, your nearest dealer will be able to help you get sized up. FITTING: Open the chin straps and slide the helmet onto your head starting at the forehead. A helmet should feel snug. If it slides on easily it is too big. It should feel tight to pull down. Make sure the inner padding fits snug all around. You should feel the padding pressing against your cheeks and head. The last check for a proper fit is to test if it moves while wearing, there should be no movement if you shake your head. Place your hands on the helmet and move it front to back and side-to-side. If there is a lot of movement, try a size down.
Speed and Strength SS2500 Hell'n Back Helmet Review
Comment: I purchased the Orange version of the SS2500 Hell and Back helmet. Jafrum offered the best price I could find, and shipping was free and fast.
I had the opportunity to try on the SS2500 at a cycle show, so knew in advance that I would need an XL, compared to my usual size L when wearing HJC helmets. I advise you check their fitment chart prior to ordering.
The helmet quality is quite good, finish is excellent. The liner is plush, but the ear space is a little tighter than some, so if you use a headset with speakers you may find it cramped.
Airflow is good but not great, as the top vents are small and may be partially blocked by the visor (beak) Being a dual sport helmet, the front is more open than a typical full face, so you do get quite good flow in the front.
The visor does a great job of blocking the sun, and while it does catch air at speed, it is manageable.
Wind noise is higher than my previous helmet, as the SS2500, like most DS helmets, does not have a chin curtain or full neck roll to block wind noise.
Overall, a great looking helmet that I would recommend to friends.

Comment: Helmets nice for the price. Light but you'll probably have to order a size larger than you normally wear. This is a snug fitting helmet.
