Size Chart for the AFX FX-39DS Multi Dual Sport Helmet
HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR CORRECT AFX HELMET SIZE.
1. MEASURE YOUR HEAD. Determine the circumference of the widest part of your head by using a flexible tape measure.
Generally, the widest part of a person's head is the area 2.5 cm (1") above the eyes and ears.
However, we suggest measuring at a few points both above and below that line to determine the greatest measurement before referring to our size tables.
We also suggest testing the fit of a helmet one size smaller and one size larger then what the chart recommends.
No helmet can provide protection if it's too uncomfortable to wear.
If you would like further detailed instructions on how to determine your correct size please look at our AFX Helmet Fitting Guide.
Comment: The fit was consistent with the size chart, the finish and interior are excellent. Overall function and appearance are of a much higher priced helmet. I am very impressed and happy with this helmet
AFX 39 DS Helmet
Comment: Great helmet but check your sizing. AFX seems to run just a tad large. Otherwise this a good value for the money

Comment: Hello, I'm very happy with the product arrived perfect, thank you very much.
AFX FX39DS Multi Helmet Review
Comment: Helmet fit was right on. Somewhat quiet and good airflow for the price. A little tight for my Silhouette glasses but it works with regular framed glasses. I Highly Recommend.
Comment: I bought one of these about a year ago and loved it so much, I just bought a second one (for when a friend rides my spare dual sport bike). The look, fit and function of this helmet is outstanding, and the price is even better. Great helmet with great features that greatly exceed the performance expectations for that low price. And to top it off, FREE shipping! Just can't find a better buy out there for your dual sport helmet needs. I highly recommend this helmet.
Dual Sport Rider
Comment: I really liked this helmet. PROS: It was nice to Close it up when riding the highway between dirt roads. Great to have the quick change options while riding. Comfortable fit, quick release chin strap. CONS: started to get a bit foggy inside when temps dropped below 50 and speed below 40 mph. With shield closed, motor noise awareness seemed to increase. With screen up, visibility is impaired slightly.
Overall, I am glad I got it. Great options.

The FX39 is available in a huge size range from extra small to four X, and the fit is true to the size chart. These helmets will accommodate long oval head shapes, as well, which I’m here to tell you, can be hard to find. Let’s look at some features.
This helmet can be configured in three ways; the shield and visor together, just the visor by itself, and just the shield by itself. There are some goodies included with your helmet to help you facilitate this. The helmet will come from our warehouse with both the face shield and visor installed. To wear the helmet without the visor, remove the screw from the top and sides of the visor using the included tool. Install these included side plates where the visor connection would be. The small rubber plug included with your accessories goes in the open screw hole on the top of the helmet. To wear the helmet with the visor only, you simply remove the visor and the shield, and reinstall the visor. There is no extra hardware needed for the visor only configuration.
Ventilation on the FX39 is pretty good. The helmet breathes well. The only aspect of the ventilation I thought could be a little better is the switching. The buttons can be manipulated with gloves on, but they’re not comfortable to the touch, and they’re very small. The setup is fairly standard, with a two position chin vent for shield fog relief, two separate two-position vents near the top of the head. The two exhaust vents are controlled with a single, centralized switch. There are also two additional static exhaust vests on the rear of the helmet.
The liner of the FX39 is also pretty decent for the money. This liner is moisture wicking and removable and therefore washable. The liner comes out in the usual way, by first unsnapping the cheek pads. Then, remove the headliner from the back to the front. With the liner out, you can see the EPS foam liner that absorbs most of the impact energy in a crash.
