Size Chart for the Speed and Strength SS700 Solid Speed Helmet
How to Measure a proper helmet SIZING: To measure your head size, wrap a tape measure horizontally around your forehead.
Select the helmet that is the closest fit to that size. A helmet should fit snug on your head. If it moves while wearing, it is too large.
If it is painful to wear, it is too small. For proper sizing, your nearest dealer will be able to help you get sized up. FITTING: Open the
chin straps and slide the helmet onto your head starting at the forehead. A helmet should feel snug. If it slides on easily it is too big.
It should feel tight to pull down. Make sure the inner padding fits snug all around. You should feel the padding pressing against your cheeks and head.
The last check for a proper fit is to test if it moves while wearing, there should be no movement if you shake your head. Place your hands on the helmet
and move it front to back and side-to-side. If there is a lot of movement, try a size down.

Speed and Strength SS700 Solid Speed Helmet Reviews:
I really like this brand. They just seem to get it.
Speed and Strength makes some of the highest quality
motorcycle apparel you can
buy. They also understand that not every rider can afford the upper epsilon
level of gear. So, they make affordable versions of all their different types of
products. The Seven Sins and Trial By Fire Jackets, the Lunatic Fringe and new
Speed Strong gloves, and of course, the ss700 helmet; all high quality yet
These helmets have some features I love and some that I don't. But, it would be
tough to find a better quality helmet that starts at less than 90 bucks.
The SS700 meets or exceeds DOT standards and has an A.T.P.A or Advanced Thermo
Poly Alloy shell. This is a fancy way of saying polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is
an excellent material for newer riders, because is reflects energy rather than
absorbing it. This means that it will take light bumps without cracking.
Polycarb does not provide as much head protection as say a fiberglass composite,
but it will definitely take more abuse.
This motorcycle helmet has an intermediate oval head-shape. This means that
unless you've got a five head like me, there's a pretty good chance that it's
gonna fit. Fit on this helmet is complemented by a pretty decent liner. It is
moisture wicking, washable, and fully removable; quite a feature for a helmet in
this price point. The liner is really simple to remove. Chin curtain-pull. Cheek
pads-pull from the top.Head liner-pull from the back to the front.Notice the
lack of fasteners of any kind on the headliner. They use a hook and loop set up
in the helmet itself. This reduces the possibility of hot spots.
Venting on the SS700 is pretty basic. The chin vent flows air to the shield to
help with fogging. The chimneys allow air to enter into the channels of the eps
and flow through the helmet. There aren't any venturi vents on this model. So,
unfortunately, the evacuation of heat and moisture is left up to these little
exhaust vents down here near the bottom ridge. Again, this helmet is 109 even
with the brand new Tap Out graffic. It's pretty tough to complain.
Let's look at the shield system. The SS700's All Clear Sight system is optically
correct, anti-scratch, and UV protectant. It is not fog free, however. Not to
Speed And Strength gives you the ability to upgrade. In fact, if you decide
to change the shield in any way, your replacement will be fog free. The Lock And
Load Rapid Conversion Shield Replacement System, also known as side plates, is
unfortunately where some of this helmets low price shows. The shield is a little
sticky when removing or installing. Like many current quick release systems,
this system utilizes a lever style quick release. You just actuate this lever
and presto. To reinstall the shield, simply press the shield against the
sideplate, actuate the lever, and make this face.Got it.
Lastly, we have the strap system. I like it. Don't get me wrong d-ring systems
are very effective but the ease of this system is awesome. Insert tab A into
slot b and adjust your strap. Now all you have to do to secure your helmet is
To take it off. This is a great feature to find on a value priced helmet.
and Strength's SS700 is an incredible value for a top name brand helmet.
