Comment: The largest vents I've ever seen in a leather jacket, front and back. The sleeves also unzip to let air flow up the arms. Ingenious pockets accessible from inside the vents. Excellent quality, very good fit. I measure a 48 so I got the 48-50. It is a little snug, but I never wear more than a t-shirt under the jacket anyway even in winter. It is plenty warm with the liner zipped in.
Great Leather, Great Protection & Fast Shipping
Comment: Thanks Jafrum for this great jacket, I cannot thank you much as it looks and feels like a $300 jacket. Real bargain and the CE armor is a huge plus. I will come here for my holiday purchases soon.
Very nice jacket for the price!
Comment: I was skeptical about this jacket but wore it in 38 degree weatehr this morning and love it. The armor is a little stiffer than some of my more expensive jackets and the neck warmer is a liitle hard to keep out of the jacket but once I removed the back armor the jacket was great. Definenately worth the money for a winter leather jacket
Great Jacket - no doubt
Comment: Great Jacket got it for Christmas this morning, took it in its first ride, Not cold here in Fl but still cool, The jacket is very comfortable well made, but you do need to order one size larger than you think you wear due to the armour, but it is a great jacket
Comment: Bought this as a gift. Ordered a size larger and the fit was perfect. Rider stated he was very comfortable and warm in the jacket. Once again Jafrum comes through!!
Leather Jacket Review
Comment: In the beginning I was skeptical about the reviews stating how great this jacket was for the money. After receiving the jacket very quickly, I was more than pleasantly surprised of how well built and heavy duty this jacket is. I ordered a large which is my normal size but had to remove the armour for the perfect fit. Side pockets could be a little deeper though. I also ordered the next size up just in case the large was too small. I ended up keeping the large and returning the XL. Jafrum made it so easy to return with no hassles and the credit showed up on my card the next month. I will have this jacket for a long time and Jafrum is definately bookmarked.
4000 Miles on the Jacket
Comment: Four thousand miles on the jacket. Ordered one size up and fit was good. Armor is stiff across the back, but won't remove it. Quality product. Enough said.
Great Jacket for Half the Price
Comment: This is a good, heavy jacket which I have seen in some stores. Here I paid less than half the price. The armor is a bonus for sure.
great jacket reasonable price
Comment: i would certainlly recomend this jacket
Great Value Leather Jacket
Comment: I bought this jacket about 2 months ago or so. When it first arrived the leather was extremely stiff. After wearing it for a couple weeks the leather finally broke in and it has become a great jacket. I measured my own chest and came up with 42". I decided to go with a large in case I wanted to wear layers. Honestly I think I could've gone with a medium, but I'm not disappointed in my decision to go with a large.
Comment: The quality is superb. This jacket is heavy even without the liner and armor. The leather is thick and shields the wind and cold nicely at 25 degrees and 60mph. I am 6' 2", 180lbs and wear a 42 Long sport coat. The large fits me perfectly. Highly recommend this jacket.
Top quality at an awesome price
Comment: This is a great jacket at an awesome price. Other jackets of this quality would run $300-$400 bucks. Plenty of pockets and very comfortable. In fact, I'm wearing it now and I'm not even riding. Thanks for the value.
Best bang for the buck
Comment: Great jacket for the money - heavy and great quality for the cost. Keeps me plenty warm on lower temp rides - very comfortable at 30-40 degrees with no thermal layer. Had to go up one size from suggested sizing chart for comfortable fit and arm movement.
Comment: Bought this jacekt a couple of months ago, and am very happy. Looks freakin awesome, and have gotten many compiments. Great quality, and a great fit. I'm 6'1'' and 160lbs and I ordered the large, fits well. I paired this up with Bell's Arrow helmet and makes a great combo. Fast shipping and excellent service, will buy from Jafrum again.
Awesome armored jacket
Comment: I love this jacket! This is the first jacket that I've ever had with armor so it took me a minute to get used to that, but once I did, it has been great! The sizes seem to run true and the armor pockets fall right where they should. Most importantly, it is warm! I would highly recommend this jacket!
Great motorcycle coat
Comment: Heavy and stiff. Waiting for the breaking period. Excellent coat for the cost. The número routs pockets is a plus. You will forget where you put everything.
Detour Leather Jacket
Comment: Great jacket, lots of pockets, great quality for a jacket at this price.Great weight. Stiff but sure it will break in time. Great job Detour and delivery was excellent. Great job Jafrum looking forward to doing business with you again soon!!!
Detour Leather Jacket
Comment: Awsome jacket, excellent price, very heavy and great quality. A little stiff I'm sure it will break in.I highly recomend, If your lookin for a jacket I highly recommend this 1. Very fast shipping excellent product.
Thank you Jafrum!!
Comment: This Jacket makes the excuse for you, to go ride! I bought a one size bigger then normal based off other reviews. I have no complaints!! air flow is great, fits amazing, really nice!
No Detour here!
Comment: Good quality, versatile with the zip out liner, sizes run a bit big. make sure you get the pads as one we ordered was missing them!!
Detour Leather Jacket
Comment: excellent coat for the money. a little to heavy for me but all in all great jacket
Leather Motorcycle Jacket Detour8000
Comment: Well, I have red all the reviews and I looked at about million jackets before deciding on this one. I wanted clean look, armor and liner. So I am 6'2 and 223Lb. I measure 46 1/2 in chest. I have ordered 2xl. I live in Canada so made the 2 hour trip down o pick it up. Jacket itself is just right. i had to remove the elbow and back armor and fits. It is quite short for a tall guy, but for the money I can not complain. This jacket is heavy and pockets are awesome. Liner is cheap quality so I took it out. I wear hoody under in colder days anyway. Arms are quite narrow which I have to get use to. I would buy this jacket again.
Mens Detour Leather Jacket
Comment: Im 6' 165lbs and bought the medium. It fits good and the sleeves and waist are long enough. The elbows are tight when bent, still breaking in. A hole in of the pockets, thin material there, thicker in the other pockets. Its also made of buffalo, I prefer cowhides looks. For the price well thought out design.
Comment: I bought this thinking it was going to be a waste of money, I was very wrong to say the least. The jacket is well made the seams of the leather are well done. The armor is is perfectly placed. The jacket is very heavy and stiff but once it's broken in it will be very comfortable. I wear a medium and bought a medium it is snug the way it should be so the armor isnt shifting around. Will definetly be buying from Jafrum again.
Best Quality at Affordable Prices
Comment: I recently bought the Detour 8000 leather jacket, leather chaps, gloves and a really nice modular vented helmet, all for under 400.00. The quality of the leather is top notch, and if I were to pay for the same gear in a local store in Mpls. it would have cost me over 1000.000. I liked the merchandise so well I also ordered a leather vest for summer riding. Best quality at affordable prices.
Comment: Gave this to my boyfriend for his birthday, and he absolutely loves it. He normally wears XL, but based on other reviews, I purchased the XXL. Even at that, he needed to remove the armor to make it a comfortable fit. Great purchase, though; would definitely recommend.
Wonderful jacket from Detour
Comment: A heavy duty leather jacket the way they used to be before the "cheap immitations made in China" started to mislead the costumers. This one is made in Pakistan, where there are excellent craftsmen in leather goods. Go one size up from the measurement or you will feel like a sausage. Superb construction, adequate ventilation features, rugged feel, heavy weight leather jacket. I hope that I don't have to test it during a fall, but it feels as if it will hold you in one piece.
Comment: Purchased this jacket to replace one that is now too small. Very heavy jacket with nice armor. Im 6' 210 lbs. Ordered 2xl and fits well. Will order from Jafrum
Detour8000 Jacket Review
Comment: Great Jacket for the price, Constructed well with lots of features and pockets, I like the armor and the jacket weight, it's sturdy but stylish. Note: it runs small so order one size up from what you normally buy.

Not the armored, vented leather jacket I was looking for
Comment: I spent a lot of time online looking for an affordable but durable leather jacket with armor and good venting for warmer Spring/Fall rides. The Detour 8000 is what I decided to try.
I have just unpackaged the jacket, slipped it on, and found it way too big. I have a 42.5" chest, and I ordered the size L, thinking that it still might be a bit tight with the liner. I should have gone with the M, as there is still ample room in the chest and shoulders and the sleeves are way too long. It seems that this jacket (and probably the rest of the Detour line) are sized to fit. Even if you have a 43" chest, you probably should stick with the medium unless perhaps you have a gut and arms like a monkey. With the armor inside, a snug fit seems essential to keep things from shifting around. I wish the product description had emphasized that point more.
The black buffalo leather has a shiny, waxy, and almost artificial appearance. I would hope that this softens with time and conditioning. The material is definitely heavy-duty. That said, when I reached up to unsnap the left breast pocket, the snap broke with only a slight tug. I cautiously approached the other snaps, and they seemed ok, but inspecting the hardware overall, I have to say that it looks cheap and the zippers are stiff. The leather pull-tabs on the zippers are also made of very thin material and I wonder how long they would hold up. Some of the sewing seems questionable. For example, I noted where the inner mesh liner appears to have been unstitched and resewn, leaving a stitch line that looks as if it would rip quite easily if you weren't careful.
This is a heavy jacket and would definitely keep you warm--especially with the liner. So what about airflow? The back vents seem good: the zippers open to the mesh inner liner. But the front vents/pockets are not so convincing: when zipped open they don't really allow wind to circulate through the liner as they are at least partially inhibited by a flap that forms part of the inside pocket. This is a real design failure, in my opinion.
I do like the fact that there are double snaps on the wrists and zippered sleeves. The collar should have an extra snap to tuck the flap of leather away when you are not zipped to the top for cold weather. I notice that some other jackets in the Detour line have this. The seams on the inside collar give the appearance that they might chafe one's neck, though it's possible they might soften with wear.
Overall, this jacket may be a case of "you get what you pay for". Perhaps I expected too much. For me, even if I had gotten the sizing right, and even if that button snap hadn't broken on first use, I would still be returning this one for a refund. This is not the armored, vented leather jacket I was looking for.
Better Than Expected
Comment: Bought this two weeks ago and it appears to be an excellent jacket. It's very heavy and thick so it would appear to be good for cold weather. It's too hot here in Oklahoma to test it at this time. Perhaps the only thing cheap about it are the slivers of leather at the end of each zipper. A more substantial piece of leather on the zipper would have been welcome. I would typically wear a large (68" and 200 pounds), but I bought an extra large. I could have possibly squeezed into the large, but the extra large gives me room inside to wear a sweatshirt or heavy sweater for rides during the coldest days. If you're wondering why you can get a highly recommended leather jacket for so cheap, the answer is simple. It's made in Pakistan. That means cheap in price but not necessarily in quality. I'm really looking forward to riding with it during cold weather.
Great buy! Detour 8000 Jacket Review
Comment: Much better than I hoped. Heavy but durable and sleek. Order size up. I am 5'7", 175 and was worried the sleeves would be too long on a large. Fits perfectly!
Comment: This is my first order and I can say I found my place for further purchase's. I received my jacket today and the shipping time's was right on but when I opened the box and took out the jacket I was blown away at the craftsmanship of the jacket and the weight. I know I will get many years use from it. I haven't tried it in the cold yet but look forward to it. I do want to tell future buyers that if you want a little extra room buy one size up because they are true to size or at least mine was and it was worth the purchase price and I don't think you will find a better jacket even if you spend $300 on it.
Very suprised !
Comment: I was very suprised of the quality of this coat. It seems to be very well made as compared to coats that are much higher priced. I purchased a 4x as I followed the size chart but it is a little snug. I could have gone up one size but was concerned about it being to big around my waist as this size is slightly large around my waste. I think once it gets broken in it will be ok. It is a fantastic value and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Detour Rushmore Leather Jacket Review
Comment: The coat was of high quality the problem I had was the sizing.I order according to the sizing chart, but when I got my coat in less than week of ordering it was to small.I barely could get it on.I returned it with no questions asked and received full refund.I would suggest a size2 sizes than the size chart says, thats how small mine was.
Better Than Expected
Comment: Just received my new jacket about a week ago. Found it to be everything the previous customers stated it would be; quality leather for the price, heavy duty, warm and tightly fitted. The only issue I have is that the jacket, because of it's 1.4mm thickness, will take a little longer to break in. But hey, I wanted something to sustain warmth in cold weather and that's what Jafrum provided. My wife and I are avid riders in any weather condition freezing to hot and humid. Looking forward to the remainder of the winter months and styling my new jacket. Thanks Jafrum!

Comment: Fits in all the right places. Seems to be true to size quality leather. Only had it for three weeks with the need for it is lower here in Arizona

I like this jacket
Comment: very heavy ,great quality nice pockets for all your gear
Decent Jacket. Extremely heavy
Comment: I should have bought a Large instead of a XL. I usually wear Large. I'm 215lbs, athletic build. I wanted room for a sweater which I have plenty of. I feel like even with the large I would have still been able to fit a hoodie in there. I distressed the leather a little more using some isopropal alcohol. Looks more vintage now. Brown is pretty dark. Extremely heavy jacket. The heaviest I have ever owned. You know its thick leather with weight like that!

brown Detour 8000 Rushmore
Comment: Only complaint is that the arms aren't long enough, would have bought a tall-Long if available. I'm hoping as I wear it and break it in, the sleeves will stop sticking to the "form" and behave more like cloth or the form of my arms, and through that not ride up my arms and expose the front of my arms as much.
For the money, great jacket. I got the brown version. Good vents, plenty of pockets and options.
At under $200, the 8000 is a great all season armored jacket that is packed
The Detour 8000 is made out of top
grain premium buffalo leather and comes in two colors; brown, with brass
hardware or black with black hardware.
The closure is constructed using a reinforced metal zipper and has a 1 snap Euro
style collar for a low profile look. There are 2 clever zippered panels on the
front of the jacket that act as vent openings and hide multiple small pockets.
There are two additional zippered hand warmer pockets on the sides as well.
Moving onto the sleeves, notice the 2 snap closure and zipper that is on the
cuffs. These provide you with adjustable wrist fitment and make the jacket easy
to get on and off.
On the back of the 8000 there are two kidney vents, accordion stretch panels for
improved arm mobility and an embossed padded area on the lower back. There is
also a removable foam spine pad for added protection. This padding is not
considered CE approved armor. This jacket also has a pant connection zipper that
lets you attach your favorite pair of riding pants, giving you a full body suit.
The quilted lining of the 8000 is insulated and removable. This liner seals in
your body heat and will keep you warm during the colder months. When it gets
warmer outside, you can take the quilted liner out, exposing a mesh liner that
promotes airflow. To remove the liner, simply unzip the liner from the shell.
Then unsnap the cuffs of the liner from the cuffs of the shell. The liner then
pulls right out. There are pockets on either side of the lining for extra
storage and a stretch panel that keeps the jacket fitting securely to your body.
The shoulder and the elbow design of the 8000 hint at the presence of the
removable CE approved armor beneath them. To remove the armor, simply locate the
armor pocket inside the jacket and unfasten it. Carefully remove the armor to
keep from tearing the pocket. CE approved armor is armor that conforms to
mandatory requirements as defined by EC directives. This approval comes with a
mark, called the CE marking or formerly EC mark, which is required on products
to be sold in the European Economic Area.
