Scorpion Drafter Mesh Jacket Review
Comment: I was very pleased with my scorpion jacket I bought, couldn't have bought a more comfortable riding jacket that is suitable enough for the kind of riding I do. Plus the service was great. I will be doing more business with your company thank you.
The Scorpion Drafter jacket is a highly breathable mesh jacket for summer riding. It is constructed using polyester mesh panels with abrasion resistant nylon in the high impact areas. It’s available in four color ways including all black, silver, red, and blue, and in sizes medium to double X. The fit is pretty standard Scorpion. It has a fairly full cut in the chest with a short torso. I like the short torso cut, especially on sportier bikes because the jacket doesn’t get pushed up into your chin.
Features are plentiful on the Drafter, despite its simple, lightweight design and low price. The main closure is nylon zipper type, and has a large TPR pull tab and a hook and loop retainer. Storage consists of a hidden pocket inside the shell and two hand warmer pockets on the exterior.
Protection is ample for a mesh, with CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbows, with a soft foam pad in the back. The armor might be the only area of this jacket that shows its price a little bit. It’s the polymeric shell type armor, so it’s rigid. But, again, when you see the price of this jacket on the listing you won’t mind. You also get a belt loop strap in the back to attach the jacket to your pants. For added visibility in low light conditions, Scorpion has added hi viz piping across the chest and across the back of the Drafter Jacket.
Adjustability is also great for a jacket in this price point. You get Velcro adjusters at the waist to snug up the fit and manage airflow, and on the arms, to stabilize the armor and reduce buffeting at highway speeds. You can also adjust the temperature range of the jacket by installing the optional Airguard windproof liner.
