The Off the Chain 2.0 textile riding jacket has a water resistant AR-600 poly chassis. This is going to be happiest in the spring and fall. It’s not quite warm enough for winter riding, and it’s solid textile, so it’s going to be a little on the warm side once you hit about eighty-eighty five degrees. So, milder weather is wear this jacket is going to be the most comfortable. It’s available in three color ways including this very Harleyesque black with orange highlights. They also offer an all-black version, and a patina gray that really has a vintage denim look to it. The branding is comparatively very subtle for Speed and Strength. You have these muted rubberized logos that are welded onto the chassis on the left shoulder and the right shoulder blade on the back, and that’s it. This is going to be a great choice for the rider that loves their Speed and Strength riding apparel, but also doesn’t feel the need to shout at everybody about it.

The Off The Chain 2.0 is available in sizes small to three xl, and the jacket has a very full cut. It has a boxy shape to it with only a very minor precurved shape to the arms. You could wear this jacket on a sport bike not problem, but it’s definitely better suited to a naked bike, a custom or cruiser with a more upright seating position.

Protection comes in the form of lightweight Vault CE approved armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back, and there is a stripe of reflective piping across the shoulders.

Storage is plentiful on the OTC 2.0. The front of the jacket has four pockets, including two zippered hand warmer pockets and two chest pockets. The left chest pocket is zippered with a flap to capture the pull tab, and the right has a hook and loop flap. Adjustability and mobility are also very good. There is adjustability in the way of hook and loop adjusters at the waist and sleeve cuffs, and mobility is improved by these expansion joints in the shoulders. Comfort is maintained by the addition of microfiber panels lining both the collar, and the cuffs of the sleeves.

Ventilation is decent, but again, this jacket is going to provide the most comfort in milder weather. You get zippered vents at the biceps and down the outside of the back. This jacket also has a removable hoody that can be easily zipped out and worn by itself. The hoody also features thumb hole style cuffs, making it easy to reinstall the hoodie into the jacket. Also on the inside of the new OTC 2.0 is this zippered pocket. It’s not just any pocket, though. S/S has added a pouch to the inside wall of the pocket making it perfect for carrying a concealed firearm, for folks with proper permits in non-restricted areas of course. The only minor flaw to this setup is that you have to unzip the hoodie from the shell to access this pocket, so make sure you practice this and get really good at it if you are planning on using this gun pocket feature.

All in all, the new Speed and Strength Off the Chain textile motorcycle riding jacket is a great choice for the milder weather rider looking for a quality vintage looking textile jacket that won’t break the bank.
