Although it's not the ultimate protection you can get it feels like it would definitely help out in minor skirmishes. At least you're protected from scraping the pavement and getting unnecessary bruises. I scraped a wall and went down around 10 or 15 miles per hour and couldn't believe the cuts I got on my knees and elbow along with a long scratch on my chest. WISH I HAD THIS JACKET THEN! It was my first time out trying to make it to a parking lot to practice
The price is right on this great looking jacket and on these hot summer days it's cool as it is well ventilated when moving. I did follow some of the reviews and ordered a size up and it fits me great. I know some of the reviews also said the sizing chart was accurate but everyone is different so it's trial and error. For me it worked out a size up.

This is a very nice jacket. Mesh allows circulation of air so its comfortable even on a hot day. Very light weight. Fit was good and according to size chart. Would recommend.
I needed a jacket to wear in the summer that has armour, but the temps here in the south make it almost impossible to wear anything other than a light shirt. This jacket flows air and doesn't feel any warmer than riding without it (the exception being sitting still in traffic). Other than that it's light, and and it keeps the sun from burning your skin. The jacket arrived quickly, and I'm definitely not sorry I purchased it.
Everything was as described. However, the back protection a little light for my tastes. The opening for back protector pocket was on the small size, so I am not sure you could buy a better 3rd party insert and have it fit. I found the jacket's fit to be decent, and the elbow protection was in the correct place.
Read all of the previous reviews and was somewhat skeptic when the jacket was described as being cool and comfortable in the summer months and I really didn't need another fall jacket but ordered it anyway. The fit was very good even though some of the reviews suggested that you order a size larger. The first trip home with the new jacket was a real surprise as it actually just the way it was described..cool in the summer. It almost makes you think that the jacket is pulling in cool breezes that aren't actually there. Would recommend this jacket to anyone who wants to ride in summer months with protection !!!
Very nice for the price, great for riding on hot days.
Great value for the price, the jacket for me was right on for size, if you want to be able to wear a wind breaker or something under this jacket you may want to go up a size. the jacket is very lite in weight, and flows air very well and is great for hot weather. I'm not sure about the level of protection the material feels lite weight but it may work just fine, the armor seems to be good. over all i like this jacket a lot it is a jacket that sells for just over a 100.00 bucks, for that price this is a very good deal even better on sale. As for quality I would say it is high quality in my opinion.
I'm 6'4" 210. jacket fit well. I thought it a little short, as some others have. However, during the hot riding season that should not be a problem. I' m usually an ATGATT kind of guy. In the warm weather it's annoying and time consuming to gear up and down, especially when doing short trips running errands. For that reason I expect to use my bike more often. I won't feel like I have to take it off every time I arrive somewhere. My full jacket is well vented, but very heavy and just barely fits into my saddlebag. Also this was a great gift suggestion to my wife.
Bought for a present for my husband-he loves it. Took a 575+ mile trip the next weekend and it was perfect. Ventilates well and seems well made. Great value. Perfect for summer riding when hot and humid when you still want some protection.
Good value, good airflow thru jacket.
I TOO BOUGHT MINE FOR THE $69 PRICE JUST THREE WEEKS AGO...Nice Jacket, no regrets.
Like the jacket, rode in hot 90 degree weather and felt good while moving, when standing it gets hot. One morning in 60 degree weather was even a bit chilly. So far I'm happy with it.
Looks good. Recovering from crash, so haven't tried yet. Would have more skin now if had it before the crash
I just received this jacket Jafrum shipped it fast like always.
Fit like a glove. Everything Jafrum said it would be. Almost like wearing nothing, very comfortable and "breezy." Highly recommend for summer biking.
It's a nice jacket. The sizing instructions are correct. Lots of air flow, I think it will be nice in the warmer weather. (got mine in fall and have been wearing with another jacket underneath)
I ordered this jacket, it arrived promptly, fit well, was cool and comfortable, and it had all of the features described. I'm very happy with my purchase.
I bought this jacket and was very impressed with the design. This jacket is perfect for riding in temperatures exceeding the high 90s. Unfortunately, I had to send it back due to sizing issues.
I bought it when it was $69, my only regret. I measured my chest size and ordered the size and it fits perfectly. Great comfort, pockets for your stuff, cool in the hot weather.
This jacket is great for high temperature riding, when you hold it up, you can actually see light going through the fabric material, that means when you ride, you will feel the wind blowing through you which is great on a hot California summer. The armor padding are there, but they are not of those typical hard armor, I think they are made of very dense foam, which I question it's ability to weather the initial shock of the impact, another thing I worry is the ability to resist sliding damage, the material look like it will not last long against the pavement. But I guess this is the drawback of being cool (as in not hot) But still, any armor is better than no armor.
Asphalt doesn't get softer just because it's hot out. Well actually it does, technically, I guess; but it still hurts if you bounce off of it without the proper gear on. A mesh jacket is the perfect way to stay protected on hot days. Most mesh motorcycle jackets start at around 120 bucks. The Detour 8015 is on sale exclusively on Jafrum.com for fifty nine dollars and ninety nine cents. I'm not even sure how that's possible, but it's true.
The 8015 is constructed out of a lightweight nylon mesh fabric that is really soft compared to a lot of mesh jacket materials. This black and silver jacket has reflective piping for greater visibility and the collar has a padded ridge that prevents irritation.
The outer front pockets have zippered closures for added security and there is an interior pocket with a hook and loop style closure.
Despite this jacket's ultra-light weight, The 8015 still offers some protection. It has removable CE approved armor in both the elbows and shoulders and a removable foam back pad. There is also a universal zippered pant connector. Connecting your pants to your jacket provides extra protection for your lower back.
The 8015 is very adjustable. There is a hook and loop belt at the waist that adjusts to your preference. This keeps the waist of your jacket fitting snuggly to your body. The sleeves are adjustable to three positions. This is a really important feature on a mesh jacket. As the air passes through this mesh material it gets caught on the backside of the arm by the armor. This will cause a very intense buffeting of the jacket at speed. By snugging up the arms you eliminate the flapping arm material making the jacket much more comfortable. This feature also adds to the safety of the jacket by holding the armor in place. The cuffs of the sleeves have adjustable straps for a secure fit although they're already very snug. In fact, some riders with very large hands may find this jacket a little bit tough to get off.
