"Received this jacket as a birthday present and LOVED it from the first minute I put it on. Right out of the box it has a nice worn-in feeling to it. High quality leather that you can smell right away. You can't fake that smell. It keeps you nice and warm with the liner in for cold weather riding and has a lot of vents to keep you cool for warm weather riding. Highly recommend."
I have to say first that the Jafrum shipping was awesome. I ordered this jacket on a Wed. morning before work, and it was delivered Thursday afternoon. Doesn't get much better than that. As for the jacket, seems great so far. Im about 6'1" and 170, and wear a 38 suit (I like it trim). The 42 I ordered fits me very well. I have mini apes on my sportster, so the jacket bunches up a little when I have my hands on the bars, but not too bad. I think the next size up would be too big. Leather seems like its high quality, love the vents, and the styling is perfect. Lot of compliments already. I recommend for sure!
Being a savvy shopper, I checked out several websites and brick-mortar stores before making my purchase through Jafrum and I am really glad I did. I ordered the wrong size and their customer service is EXCELLENT. They were right on it and kept me posted. The jacket is a classic look and feels soft and a great look.
Good fit, warm with good flexibility great product
Jacket was purchased as a gift & I couldn't be happier for the person it was purchased for!! Great fit, great look, great warmth with zip out liner & plenty of pockets! Awesome buy & impressive style!
Size perfect. Removable lineing warm. Looks Great! Note-The leather is BUFFALO. Kind of wierd, but I like it. Jafrum service was quick.
Excellant jacket. My wife measured me for the fit and we ordered the size indicated on the chart. It fits great. 70 degrees, without the liner it was very comfortable, 50 degrees with liner it kept me warm. I would buy it agin, but will not have to, I see this one lasting for years to come.
Perfect fit and comfort right out of the box! Size chart and was 100% accurate, so order exactly what you need. Perfect mix of nostalgia , comfort, style, and protection. Even on hot days, the zip out liner makes it easy to wear this jacket all year!
Im 5'10, 215, 48-50fits great. quality leather. id buy again. no complaints
Couldn't be happier. Looks & fits great. Runs pretty true to size. Warm, comfortable and stylish.
I'm a big guy. 220, and 5'8. I got a 46 and it fit great. It has an old broken in look and feel that usually takes a couple years to get. I have also been told by several women I work with.., it smells great.. in Practical terms, it is vented near your pits, on your chest, and both left and Rt along the back. It was 86 yesterday, and had it on and while riding, the coat was vented just fine. I was nervous about getting it online, but I am 100% happy. Well worth it.
I saw this jacket in a motorcycle magazine a couple of months ago claiming that it was a "must have" item. I ordered it and received it within 3 days. I have never owned a nicer jacket could not be more pleased.
I bought this for myself because I liked the look. I turned out to be a great warm jacket I can wear even when I'm not riding.
I received my new jacket last week and I wore it to work the next day. Everyone of my work mates commented on how cool it was I love it. The fit is great the look is spot one well done.
Great fit and old school look.
I looked all over the net for a jacket. Not ready to spend big $ but wanting a vintage looking jacket at a reasonable price for regular wear. I have a very common size and had trouble finding a merchant with it in stock so I looked around and finally found it in stock at Jafrum. Shipping was fast. When I received the jacket and opened the box I could really smell the leather. I also could not believe how heavy it was too. The leather was stitched perfectly and the edges were distressed tastefully. The zippers worked well. I was concerned about them because there were some unfavorable reviews. I am 5'8" with a sport build and wear a 42 suit. The jacket with the liner fit perfect across the chest. The arms were a little tight but in a good way. The cuffs are not tight and sort of fit around the hand like a suit jacket. The collar fits well but I had to burnish the edges because the distressed leather was irritating when it rubbed on my neck. Took about 5 minutes and problem solved. The collar edge still looks distressed but is smooth. I also liked the fact that the exterior does not have any logos or name branding. Only the button for the collar had the RR and was hardly noticeable. I had the jacket outside while walking the dog and it was windy and 20 degrees. No wind intrusion and was keeping me warm. The lining is a quilted material and is soft. The jacket is still warm and comfortable to wear without the lining. With the lining I only need a t-shirt (because it fits snug in the arms) but without it you can layer clothes. Everyone compliments the jacket on the fit, and the way it smells. Also they are surprised when they feel the weight of it.
River Road's Hoodlum jacket is one of my favorites from this brand. I really like vintage looking motorcycle apparel and this jacket is obviously just that. The Hoodlum is made of soft, matte finished buffalo leather which is perfect for a vintage looking jacket because of the large grain. The seams edges are distressed, and the white stripes have been antiqued, giving them an egg shell color.
River Road uses numbered sizing on their vintage models that corresponds to your chest size, and the fit is accurate. Billy, here, is 5'10'' 160 with a 42 inch chest. We went with a size 40 on him because the typically wears his clothes very tailored; and on the street this will work great, this jacket looks spot on, but on the bike, the jacket might bind a little in the shoulders, especially on a café style bike with clip on handlebars, or a cruiser with ape hangers, basically any handlebar setup that requires a fully extended reach.
For these types of bikes, you may also want to consider a jacket model with expandable shoulder gussets, like the MJ535, as this Hooligan model doesn't have that feature. On bikes with more relaxed seating positions, though, using your exact chest measurement to establish your jacket size will work perfectly.
Vintage style jackets are designed to be fairly form fitting, so there isn't a ton of adjustability. There is some, though. These two position snap adjusters allow you to adjust the circumference of the waist, and are helpful in manipulating airflow through the jacket.
This Hoodlum jacket can be worn throughout most of the year due to its versatile ventilation and liner setup. There are zippered vents on the chest and on the biceps for directing cool air into the jacket, and there are additional zippered vents on the back that do a good job of moving hot air out of the jacket during the warmer months.
Unfastening the main closure and Euro style collar, reveals the removable, full sleeve, quilted thermal liner that can be installed in colder weather to help to hold in that body heat.
While we're looking at the liner, you can see the Velcro pockets on either side for electronics and other small items. Removing the thermal liner, exposes the same pocket arrangement on the mesh liner on the inside of the shell. On the exterior, on the front, the vents on the chest that we just looked at double as pockets, and there are two zippered hand warmer pockets as well.
