The Ladies’ Heart and Soul jacket from
Strength features a water resistant AR-600 poly chassis and is a really
versatile choice that is going to exceed in a lot of different riding
conditions. Again, the shell is not waterproof, and neither are the zippers, but
this jacket will handle some light rain ok. It has a full sleeve quilted thermal
liner as well, so chilly spring or fall mornings are no big deal. There is some
easy access ventilation on the biceps and down the sides of the back, but this
jacket will still be a bit too warm for the hotter parts of the summer.
It’s available in three different color options including this black and silver.
SS also offers the Heart and Soul in cream and black, and vintage black and red,
which has a distressed denim look to it. The right sleeve features an elaborate
full sleeve embroidered filigree graphic, and there is embroidered text on the
waistband and at the base of the neck.
The fit of the Heart and Soul is very versatile, and it’s available in sizes
extra small to double extra-large. There is an accurate size chart on the
listing to help establish your fit. This is a short style cut and the jacket may
stop above the top of your jeans depending on the length of your torso.
Adjustability can be found at the waist in the way of these buckle type
adjusters, and these expandable zippered gussets.
The shoulder design also adds to your mobility. The expansion joints you can see
here allow a free range of motion, allowing you to more easily reach the
handlebars. The cuffs of the sleeves are also adjustable using hook and loop
type adjusters with microfiber gussets. For added comfort, the collar and the
cuffs of the sleeves are lined with microfiber.
Protection is found in the form of lightweight CE rated Vault armor in the
shoulders, elbows, and back, and there is a stripe of reflective piping
outlining the back to increase your visibility at night. Also for your
protection, loops with snaps have been added to the inside of the back of the
jacket allowing you to attach the jacket to your pants belt, protecting your
lower back tattoo from road rash.
This jacket has a simple design, for a clean look, so outside storage is limited
to these zippered hand warmer pockets. If you unfasten the jacket’s main
closure, using the blinged-out pull tab, you’ll see the additional hidden
zippered pocket and the removable quilted thermal liner. All in all, the Heart
and Soul motorcycle riding
jacket from Speed and Strength is a great option for the lady rider looking
to make a subtle yet clear statement, in varying weather conditions, on and off
