Detour 8501 Motorcycle Pants with Removable CE Armor Review
Comment: Fit true, good construction and material. Knee pad pocket does get in the way when putting on and fly could give more room when putting on but overall awesome for the price.

Comment: Had a excellent experience shopping with Jafrum! Fast shipping and superb quality pants! I am 5'11 and weigh 180 lbs, the size large fit perfectly. Opened the box tried on the pants and decided to go for a 'short' ride, well about 200 miles later in 50 degree weather, wind chill drops that into the 40's, pants kept me nice and warm! Comfortable the whole ride! Thank you Jafrum!
Detour 8501 Pants Review
Comment: The pants fit great and appear well made and a great value for the price. Although I normally wear a 32 inseam The pant appeared baggy if they break on the boot. The short does not appear baggy and are very comfortable. My normal waist size is in the 36 - 37 range and the large fit great. I have not ridden in them yet but I have worn them enough to expect they will be very comfortable and warm on a long ride
Great bang for the buck
Comment: I bought these pants as I am on a limited budget and needed a pair of riding pants. I ordered the next size up as suggested in other reviews.
After removing the inner liner and rain liner, the pants fit me perfectly. (note: I didn't need the other liners and the pants would have fit fine with them on.) They breath well in the heat and I felt comfortable on the bike.
These are good quality and I'm happy to have them. All the gear, all the time!!! Thanks Jafrum
Comment: The last pants I had fell apart in 6 months. I'm sure these will last a lot longer. They are made from a very tough material. They are made for cool/cold weather though. I wear base layers under them to soak up the sweat.
Good riding pants
Comment: I am a 32 waist and that is what I ordered. Fits very nicely Zipper is heavy duty.
Easy off and on with side zippers. Button loops on removable lining has not been sewn on and fell out of pant leg the first time I put them on. Resewed them with heavier string and now the are 100%
Rode today in 54 degree weather and they were warm and comfortable.
Performed as described
Comment: I was pleased with the durability and features on t he riding pants. Zippers were heavy duty and vents were useful in the warmer time during ride.
Detour 8501 Motorcycle Pants Review
Comment: A very good pair of pants at an excellent price. You don't seem to expect much after paying less than $100 for riding pants, but I'm here to tell you that they're well worth it. If you don't have a ton of money to spend on expensive gear, these pants are the perfect buy. I normally wear a 30 or 31 size jeans, I bought the small size Detour pants and they fit excellent. They are very comfortable, warm, and stylish. I commuted 60 miles round trip on the interstate to and from work in the cold Northwest on one of its coldest mornings of the year (about 20-30 degrees), and these pants kept me very warm with only jeans under them. Keep in mind, I was doing speeds of 60-70 the majority of the ride. Very cost effective pants, and you can remove the thermal liner when it gets too hot. The liner hook and loop design to hold the liners in place are poor and will tear when removing pants over biots if not careful, but I just take my boots off first and it's no problem. Sew some extra thread into the loops in the pants if you want them tNo be fully secured. Overall, I am a very pleased customer. Thanks Jafrum for an awesome experience.
These Detour 8501 Textile Riding Pants are made of a durable water and
abrasion resistant polynylon, and are an incredible value for the features and
details that you get with these pants. They have a huge size range including
regular sizes XS thru 4X, and Short and Tall sizes M thru 3X. Our model is
5'10", with an average build and proportion, and fits perfectly in the medium
regulars. They have reinforced panels in all of the high-wear areas like the
rear end and the knees, and all of the seams are double stitched. For
protection, there is CE approved armor in the knees, and extra padding in common
impact areas like the hips, shins, and lower back.
Storage is plentiful with the 8501's. There are polyester lined hand warmer
pockets at the waist and mesh lined pockets on the thighs that double as vents.
The main closure features a zippered and gusseted fly with dual hook and loop
straps for adjustability. The leg openings feature lightweight nylon zippers
that are protected from the elements by these hook and loop flaps with
reflective trim at the bottom. Inside the leg closure, you can see the removable
quilted thermal liner that has its own metal zipper and the fixed waterproof
liner with taped seams to keep the wet off of you.
The only things that separate these pants from ones that cost two to three times
as much is that the exterior material is not completely waterproof nor are the
zippers. You can treat the material, though, with a waterproofing spray, and the
liner is waterproof. The other would be breathability of the waterproof liner.
This liner is not going to allow hot air out of the garment like a high end
Gore-Tex type liner will.
