As an owner of a set of Jafrum leather riding chaps, Tourmaster vinyl Rain Chaps, and Tourmaster riding pants, I found the Jafrum riding pants to first off, be a good value considering what other manufacturers charge. While the leather chaps are ok, they aren't as warm as I wanted for riding around the San Francisco Bay Area,The only Tourmaster pants drawback was that with them being only one size over my jeans size, I couldn't wear my belt mounted cellular phone case and/or folding knife scabbard due to the lack of space. Thanks to ordering two sizes over my waist size, I may now wear both my cell phone and knife sheath on my belt while riding. The pockets, vents, pull sizing tabs, and full length leg zippers are also welcomed advantages.

These came on the Sunday before Christmas. On December 27th the temperature got to almost 50 degrees. Took my Harley out for about 1 1/2 hours and the pants did keep the cold out. It was a dry day so I do not know if they are waterproof. Fit is okay and the price was good and along with free shipping, a pretty good deal.
I really did not expect the quality of these pants for this price point. They fit me perfect. They are very protective from the elements and they are very comfortable! All kinds of pockets and adjustments. They are also very warm and keeps the wind off my lower body and legs. Just all around great pants I would recommend them to everyone.
Hello, I recently got these last week, and have been using them here in the rainy pacific NW. I was very nervous buying such a critical article of clothing sight-unseen. So far though, they are good, and keep the cold and wet out. I bought 1 size over because I wanted to use them as overpants over my jeans and for winter layering. In hindsight, I think if I would have stuck with my original size that would have worked too as the 1 size over seems a little too big, but I may just be overthinking it. I think I am going to buy another pair the correct size to have another option for the winter.
I did not expect these riding pants to have the fit and feel that they have. I love these pants, there are adjustments everywhere. Zip legs, zip pockets, padding in all the right places. There great. Road for two hours in 38 degree weather with no complaints. Highly recommend.
I'd been looking for pants that will keep me warm and dry in cold weather. I thought that I was going to have to resort to camouflage hunting pants or coveralls until I spotted these. Not only are they very protective from the elements but they are very comfortable! I could hardly go wrong with the discount either.
These Detour 8502 pants are constructed using a durable, water and abrasion resistant polynylon, and come in sizes to fit just about every body type there is. They're available in regular sizes XS -- 4X, tall sizes m - 3X, and short sizes m -- 3X. Or model is 5'10" with an average build and fits perfectly in the regular mediums. The main closure consists of a lightweight nylon zipper with a snap down protector and waterproof gusset.
Adjustability abounds on the 8502's with hook and loop tabs at the waist, accordion style stretch panels on the lower back and knees, and more hook and loop adjustability at the cuffs.
Protection comes in the way of CE approved padding in the knees with reinforced ballistic nylon panels, and removable foam padding in the hips. Also, for nighttime visibility, reflective piping has been added to the full length of the legs.
There are zippered hand warmer pockets at the waist for storage and waterproof zippered vents on the thighs for breathability.
Opening up the leg closure, reveals the flap protected, full length waterproof zippers and fixed waterproof liner.
The only thing I would change on these 8502's is the lack of waterproof zippers on the hand warmer pockets. You shouldn't get wet, due to the waterproof liner, but a small amount of water could get into the shell in a hard or persistent rain. Still, these are an amazing pair of motorcycle riding pants for the money.
