Comment: Ordered (Wed.) using freeship coupon, arrived Friday. Wow, you guys are amazing.
Fit is perfect -- I'm 5'10" to 5'11, 180lbs, regular build (in terms of men's suits, I wear a 42 regular sport cut suit off the rack) normally buy either W34-L32 or W32-L32 jeans. Pants pulled on right over jeans even with quilted liner left in. Not snug, could sit down easily. Bottom of pant covers full shoe top, so sitting with them on will not cause them to ride up. Bike is in the shop and it's -12 outside right now, so I'm not going to road test.
Construction is excellent -- heavy duty seams, zippers are great. Fabric is heavy duty, padding and armor are solid. Hip padding is unobtrusive, unlike a prior pair from a different mfg that i ordered last year. These pants aren't going to make you look like you belong on a magazine cover, but the pair from the other mfg made my hips look "generous". These merely look svelte. Nothing cheap about these pants.
Only con is that hip padding seems a little low. Maybe 1-2 inches below the top of the hip bone.
Comment: These riding pants are a great value. I am in Ohio and these pants with the liner in have kept me warm in 30 degree temperatures. They fit well and are comfortable. I am 5' 7" 180lbs and ordered Medium and the fit was perfect.
almost perfect all weather riding pants!
Comment: I bought these being slightly skeptical of their cap price, but the delivery was speedy and the product worked out greater than I had hoped. I wrote threes pants in rain l couldn't even see through with winds up to 20mph and these pants were flawless. No rain or wind penetration! The extra sizing abilities of Velcro straps helped wheni wore looser jeans. The warmth was too warm at times and I had to remove the lining. The only down side to these pants is that they lack any heart shielding as parts of my bike melted small holes on the inside legs. But for the price I'll just buy more. Great purchase!
Comment: I own another brand of motorcycle pants but just didn't like them so I started looking for another pair before a recent ride. I read a lot of reviews and finally decided on these. They arrived promptly and I was very pleased with how they looked and fit when I received them. I took off for Colorado a couple of days later to ride with a friend and may have had the opportunity to test them in rain, if not for a change in route at the last minute. Instead, I tested them in another way by doing something I had never done before since I started riding 54 years ago; I went down for reasons I'll never understand in a slow curve that almost doesn't exist. Fortunately, I didn't make contact with pavement but did hit the dirt in a ditch. The pants aren't damaged but my rib cage still hurts, even though no ribs were broken. I don't recommend tests of new pants in this manner.
Finally! Great fit and protection at a reasonable cost!
Comment: These well built, heavy weight riding pants make a good impression right out of the package (which came quickly). I couldn't be happier with the look, protection in and out of the rain, or the fit. I'm 6'4" 235lbs so I ordered the XL Tall because I wanted to be able to wear them over other pants. Perfect length for me. They fit fine over jeans, or pull the side adjusters in and they are great over sport shorts. The padding is comfortable and stays put pretty well. The liner came out the moment I opened the box because I live in SW Florida and I don't want to melt. I may throw it in in the coldest part of the winter when it gets into the upper 40s in the mornings, but we'll see. They are a little bulky to haul around if you're not wearing them, but that's to be expected. These pants clearly rival those costing tens times this much!
Naples, Florida, Baby!!
Comment: I recently purchased these pants to ride my street enduro to and in the VA mountains in December. It was 14 degrees the last morning we were there, with an average of approximately 30 degrees....about 8 hours on the way home. Not one complaint on these pants as I stayed warm my whole trip! I am 5'10 195 and purchased the large regular. I wore my medium height enduro boots and the end of the pants covered them well. I wore these the whole time; out eating, around the campfire, etc., to stay warm. They're comfortable and are made to cover a good portion of your lower back so no drafts when riding. I used them in the rain at approximately 48 degrees, with high winds, prior to the above trip to try them out and they kept me warm and dry. We are leaving on our hog in a few weeks so I just bought my wife a pair. ..the leather will now stay in the closet.

Detour Landslide Motorcycle Pants
Comment: I got these pants after exchanging them for another pair that didn't have side zippers.Glad I did. These pants fit over my jeans perfectly.I've only had the chance to try them in 40-50+ degree weather, but so far I'm impressed.Side zippers make it easy to put on over jeans and the zip out thermal lining makes it nice as temperatures rise.My only drawback is that the stitching came undone at the loop for the side adjustment strap. It was an easy repair though sewing it back.I'm 5'7" 180lbs. with a 30" inseam.I got the medium short and they fit well. The length does come up a bit in the riding position, but not so that it doesn't do it's job.I would get the regular length next time though.Overall I am very pleased with this item.Hope this review helps.
Which of these pants would be best as over pants-- 8501, 2, or Landslide? I'm thinking the 8502 with full length leg zips. Also, are the leg zippers teeth or nylon coil type? Had a pair of tour masters with coil type and they failed.. Thanks.
At Jafrum, we have literally hundreds of styles of jackets, pants, and boots
available at the lowest prices on the web. So, naturally, some are to be a
little bit better than the rest in their category. These 8503 Waterproof Textile
Pants are, in my opinion, one of the best pant models that Detour offers. Let's
take a look at some of the features.
The shell of the 8503 pants is made of a high density polynylon with double
stitched, reinforced ballistic nylon areas in the knees and rear. The main
closure consists of a waterproof metal zipper with a dual snap pull tab
retainer, and the waist is adjustable using these hook and loop adjusters. The
pockets also feature waterproof zippers that receive even more protection from
the elements from these hook and loop cover flaps.
The wear ability is excellent with these pants as a result of the accordion
style stretch panels in the knees and in the top of the rear.
The protective features are also quite good with CE approved armor in the knees
and removable pads in the hips. Nighttime visibility is improved by the use of
reflective panels on the lower hip area and piping that extends from the panels
down to the bottom of the leg.
The leg closures extend all the way up to the hip for easy on and off and are
equipped with waterproof zippers that are protected by these hook and loop cover
flaps. Open the zippers up, and you expose the removable, zip out, quilted
thermal liner and fixed waterproof liner that complete the 8503's functionality.
Again, this is one of the better items from
Detour and at a price
that is far lower than anything comparable from another manufacturer.
