I have not been disappointed with anything that I have bought from Jafrums. The rain suite not only was here before I had expected, but the workman ship was better than expected. Im recommending that anyone who wants a great deal who is on limited funds give them a try......

Good Rain Gear RS5000

I'm actually on my 2nd Thunder Under RS5000 suit. The first one served me well for about 3 years and then the crotch seams started to leak. Because the suit was bulky and took up Quite a bit of my storage room, I decided to replace it with a lighter, more compact, more expensive suit from my dealer. On the first wearing, I was soaked to the skin. Threw it in the trash, and immediately ordered my Thunder Under from Jafrum. I have worn it all summer and it hasn't leaked once. I both like and dislike the loose mesh lining. I like that it allows the pants to move and not stick to you when you sit and I like that it breathes . I don't like that it always gets stuck on my boots when I put it on. I have to reach inside and pull up the lining.

I went to Sturgis this year and the one time I wore these the "Heat panel" didn't hold up to any heat and melted right onto the make sure that you have no contact with the pipes if you wear this suit.

Very nice rain suit for the price. Heavier material and good quality fasteners. Used it once so far on a ten mile ride in a moderate rain and it kept me dry. That's all I can ask!

This has been a great rainsuit. I ride daily in the rain of WA. Suit fits great and is comfortable in a wide range of motion. Plenty of room to add layers under the jacket. Great value for my money.

Good Rainsuit

by - verified purchaser
We are smaller riders, so we ordered a small. It's still big and definately too bulky to wear over other gear. We've decided to keep it for my husband who commutes on his bike, but when he uses it he has to store his regular jacket in his backpack.

A very nice rainsuit

by - verified purchaser
I ordered this rainsuit in a Large even though I am normally an XL. The fit and finish of the suit was very nice. I am 6'1" and 235 lbs with a 40 inch waist and 46 to 48 chest. I also ordered the closeout model RS5010 in a Large and actually liked it better than this one, so this one went back. It bothered me that this RS5000 did not have reflective piping on the back of the jacket and that was a deal breaker to me... whereas the closeout model RS5010 had the reflective piping. All in all., a very nice rainsuit for the money. I wish they would date these reviews so prospective buyers can read the more current reviews than some that might be a couple years old..

RS5000 Review

I like the rain suit jacket. It kept me dry. The one problem I had was with the pants. They fit well, kept me dry and cool, but I wish the heat panels had gone a few inches higher on the legs. They were adequate when my feet were on the floorboards, but you have to put your feet down eventually. Overall I would recommend this product, but just be careful when you put your feet down.

Waterproof Rainsuit RS5000.

This is the best rain gear I've ever purchased! After wearing and returning discount store brands, I can say this gear is worth it! Recently wore it to a football game in drenching rain and it kept me very dry! Have yet to try it while riding but am looking forward to putting to the test! Be sure to order down a size because it is plenty big! A nice feature is the heat shield on the calf portion. My others melted away on my exhaust system. Now I am not worried at all. Buy with confidence!!

A rain suit is a necessary item in any rider's apparel collection. Even if you don't ever plan on riding in the rain, there are some things that are simply not in your control. If you have ever gotten soaked to the bone with cold rain 30 or more miles away from home, you probably already own one of these. Rain suits are made in a variety of styles and materials most of which are available on our website,

The Thunder Under RS5000 two piece rainsuit is made from nylon. Nylon is a good fabric for a rainsuit because it is lightweight, easy to pack, and somewhat breathable. It can also be very reasonably priced. This complete suit with all of the features I'm about to show you is on sale on for sub sixty bucks. The only downsides to nylon as a rainsuit fabric are that it is not flexible, most rainsuits aren't flexible, and it doesn't hold up to sunlight very well. All that means to you the rider is that you don't want to lay it out in the sun for extended periods of time to dry. If you take proper care of a nylon suit it will provide you with protection from the elements for many years and miles.

This rainsuit has just about every feature available in this type of apparel, and It is available in this one color way. The suit is primarily gray with black accents and has high viz panels in the sleeves of the jacket and high viz piping on the sleeves of the jacket and down the leg of the pants.

Let's take a closer look at the three quarter length jacket. This jacket has a durable plastic zipper that is covered by these dual panels and secured with a hook and loop system to ensure a waterproof closure. All the seams are tape sealed as well to keep the water out. There is a hidden hood in the collar to keep water from running down your neck into the jacket. The two pockets on the front are water resistant but I would be careful with cell phones and electronics because there is no closure system for the flap.

The fit on this jacket is very adjustable. There are adjustable straps on the front that are combined with a stretch panel on the back to reduce buffeting at speed. The only feature that is missing on this jacket that would be nice is maybe some adjusters on the sleeves. They're nice to have to keep the jacket quiet especially if you ride a bike with little or no wind screen. The cuffs are fully adjustable with stretch panels on one side and an adjustable hook and loop closure on the other.

The interior of the jacket has been equipped with a mesh lining. This will help wick moisture away from your skin and also keep the rain gear from sticking to your skin when you start to sweat.

Now let's get a look at the pants. The waist of the pants is stretchy all the way around and has a draw string for adjustability. The cuffs of the legs are also adjustable with zippered expanders and waterproof gussets. The pocket on the pants does have a closure system and is almost completely waterproof. There are reinforced panels in high wear areas on the both the backside and also on the legs where the fabric can come into high heat areas and rub on footpegs. The legs also have removable stirups to help keep your pantlegs from riding up and letting water into your boots.

Why did you choose this?
Jafrum Store
Good price, OK quality... the pants leaked at the crotch seam. Not the best place for a leak!
Jon R onApr 27, 2015
I chose this mostly for the price but it is a good product. Only a little bit of leakage but not at the seams. Water came in around the collar.

How small does the suit fold down to? I have a solo bag and want to easily fit the suit plus insurance card etc. Dimensions in inches would be appreciated.

Are the leg zippers long enough to put on/ take off over boots?
Libbie on Jan 21, 2015
Best Answer:Yes, zippers measure about 8 1/2 inches in length. Coupled with the elastic at the bottom of the pants, it fits a boot firmly without being too tight. For longer rides, you can even use an optional button strap across the bottom of the boot that holds the pant firmly in place. This suit has been a wonderful purchase. Good fit, excellent protection and visibility offered.

Good morning! Would the hood fit over a Shoei Full face helmet?
Raven on Jan 29, 2015
Best Answer:The hood is spacious and fits over even our largest full face helmets. The entire suit is ample to fit even our thickest attire. I have had no problems. Excellent suit at great price.

I have a 27 inseam does the pant hand elastic that can be pushed up?
A shopper on Apr 27, 2015
Best Answer:the pants have an elastic band. need to watch out for too much leg length, as i know 1rst hand, the pants will flap around the knee area. i'll probably put a stretch band around that area to help in longevity.
