Fits well - not tried in the rain yet.

I got these for my husband for Christmas. They fit wonderfully, but are a tad long for him. I don't foresee that being a problem though. I'm sure he'll try them out in the spring time when it's not -10 outside.

Very well made- Thunder Under Rain Suits

Bought 2 rainsuits for my son and myself. Didn't have to use them on a recent road trip. Not yet sure as to fit, but the suits appear to be of high quality. Looks as well made if not better than more expensive rain gear that I've in local shops.

Thrilled with my rain gear!! Thunder Under

by - verified purchaser
I've been riding with my husband on his HD Ultra Classic for years and never owned any raingear. It's not fun getting caught in a downpour. So, I started searching for a two-piece rain suit to fit a petite woman that be within my budget. I came across Thunder Under while surfing the net. I was hesitant about buying it w/o trying it on first. I ordered it on a Friday evening and it arrived at my house on the following Tuesday. I couldn't wait to try it on! I put on my chaps and jacket so I could get the true feel of the rain suit on top. WHAT A fit me to a "T" and I was able to move around w/o any problems. I love the number of pockets and the zippers with the velcro cover closing. I almost bought a small size, after looking at the measurements I went with the XS size. I'm so glad I did! For all the Harley Lovers I got the black and orange rain suit. ; ) I can't wait to use it in the rain!

Thunder Under Motorcycle Rain Gear RS5031 Review

Purchased these hoping to never need them. Got caught in some bad weather riding home yesterday. Had our rain suits on and the only thing to get wet were feet and hands...not covered by the suit. I am now looking for boot covers. I can't stress how great these are and how well they work for the money.

Great Rain Gear!

by - verified purchaser
I bought this rain suit because I was taking a Safe Rider Course and I needed a good rain suit as part of list of gear I needed, ie,. helmet, groves. Well it hasn't rained since I bought it, but I use it as a wind breaker on these chilly Eastern shore mornings. It keeps me very warm and keeps the wind off me too! I would recommend this to everyone who needs protection from the rain and wind! by the way I passed the SAFE Rider course!

The product shipped as stated, it seems to be a well made product for the price. Haven't had a chance to use it in the rain yet but it appears to be a product that will hold up well. Like the reinforcement locations on typical wear locations on the pants, wasn't expecting that.

I am very pleased with the rainsuit I ordered. The fit was great (even for a Big/Tall). It is very comfortable and was a great price. I have already used it (got caught in the rain) and can confirm that it works as advertised.

Great Buy. Keeps Ya Dry!

by - verified purchaser
This suit was recommended to me by a friend, and it certainly delivered on his promise. I didn't have time to do a wet test prior to taking it along on my trip, and – lo and behold – we hit a big storm. I whipped the suit out, tore of the tags, threw it on, and it did its part. I threw it over heavy pants and a jacket, and it had plenty of room to spare. In fact, it was a bit baggier than I'd like, but that's simply in regards to "appearance." (You know– ya gotta look good when riding! Ha!). The extra looseness didn't cause in issues, like flapping in the wind or getting caught in/on things. It simply didn't fit tight, as a like things too, but I don't think you'll find an over-the-top rain suit that does that. Everything seemed to seal fine. There were no quality issues. (I'll update this review if any evolve.) Everything fit snug at the seems due to the snug elastic bands. And, everything stayed dry. Some "pros 'n cons" to consider– respectively: it's well-priced, it folds up to a very compact size, it seems to dry quickly, it has a front wallet pocket that seems to seal up well, and – most importantly – it keeps you dry. Downsides are that it's a bit "baggy," and it doesn't have shoulder straps (which didn't prove to be a problem, because the elastic bands held everything in place well).

Awesome Rain Gear for the price. It shipped fast! Don't go over board on SIZE. If you are a large order large. I made the mistake of ordering 2XL and a L would have been fine.

Bought this to replace a set of Frog Toggs that got too close to the muffler. Very good quality for the money. Order 1 size larger than you think you wear.

The Thunder Under RS5001 two piece rainsuit is made from nylon. Nylon is a good fabric for a rainsuit because it is lightweight, easy to pack, and somewhat breathable. It can also be very reasonably priced. This complete suit with all of the features I'm about to show you is on sale on for less than forty five dollars. The only downsides to nylon as a rainsuit fabric are that it is not flexible, most rainsuits aren't flexible, and it doesn't hold up to sunlight very well. All that means to you the rider is that you don't want to lay it out in the sun for extended periods of time to dry. If you take proper care of a nylon suit it will provide you with protection from the elements for many years and miles.

This rainsuit has almost every feature available in this type of apparel, and It is available in five color ways. The suits are primarily black with accent color choices of blue, yellow, orange, red and gray. There are high viz strips across the back and near the cuffs of the pants.

Let's take a closer look at the three quarter length jacket. This jacket has a durable plastic zipper that is covered by these dual panels and secured with a hook and loop system to ensure a waterproof closure. All the seams are tape sealed as well to keep the water out. The dual pockets on the front of the jacket have full width hook and loop closures making them nearly completely waterproof and share the highlight color of the shoulders.

The fit on this jacket is very good. There is a stretchy band all the way around the jacket to reduce buffeting at speed. The only adjustment features that are missing on this jacket that would be nice are maybe some adjusters on the sleeves and a draw cord system at the opening. They're nice to have to keep the jacket quiet especially if you ride a bike with little or no wind screen. The cuffs have stretchy material all the way around for a secure fit.

The interior of the jacket has been equipped with a mesh lining. This will help wick moisture away from your skin and also keep the rain gear from sticking to your skin when you start to sweat.

Now let's get a look at the pants. The waist of the pants is stretchy all the way around and has a draw string for adjustability. The cuffs of the legs are also adjustable. Open this high viz clad hook and loop closure to expose the zippered expanders with waterproof gussets. The pocket on the pants has a hook and loop closure system and is almost completely waterproof. There are reinforced panels in high wear areas on the both the backside and also on the legs where the fabric can come into high heat areas and rub on footpegs. The legs also have removable stirups to help keep your pantlegs from riding up and letting water into your boots.

This has been a closer look at the Thunder Under RS5001 Two Piece Motorcycle Rainsuit.

Why did you choose this?
Jafrum Store
I already own it. I had no problems with this suit so far. It kept me dry in the worse rain and highly recommend it. I am purchasing it for a friend.

i was not sure of how many times i would ride in the rain. It turns out I need the suit more often than I thought.

The jacket has lasted but i ripped the pants when i was rushing to get them on in a sudden down pour.

I needed some lightweight rain gear to carry on the bike in the event of inclimate weather. I've not actually used the gear yet but it rolls up snugly and fits in my saddlebag.

I'm 6'5" with a 38" Inseam. Are these paints going to be long enough or can you recomment ome of your products that will be?

Best Answer:I think for you they would be a little short. I'm 6'1", with a 34" inseam and they fit well. But seems like I would only have 1-2" of margin if I were taller. There's a stirrup that holds the cuff down (loops under your boot) but the pants may ride too high on your boot and generally just feel tight. If you need for the occasional chance you'd hit rain, they'd probably work OK. Otherwise I think you would be better to find something with a longer inseam. They're good pants--I did a ride in western Washington with 3 days of rain and they kept me quite dry.

Is this suit lined?
Kevin C on Nov 30, 2014
Best Answer:Hello Kevin,

Sorry it took me a few days to answer your question. The jacket has a mesh lining. The inside of the pants feels like a rubbery material rain proof lining. I've used it once during a downpour and it kept me very dry. I'm very please with my purchase.

Is there a hood?If not what model does that has the same features as this one?
scott h on Nov 5, 2014
Best Answer:I can only answer half of your question.

I purchased this rain suit about a year ago and have had several opportunities over the summer to see how well it performs. I ride about 10,000 miles a year in city-country mix conditions.

I live in Central Florida and some of our summer rain storms are like hurricanes without a name.

To begin with, this suit does not have a hood. I was a little concerned with that when I purchased it but I reasoned that I wear a full face helmet and have a full size wind screen so maybe I could get by.

For the record, not once did I ever have rain running down my neck or back due to not having a hood. This is true for both highway speeds and well as stop-and-go city driving where rain tends to puddle.

This suit kept me bone dry in the heaviest of summer Florida thunderstorms! Now with that said, it's also a little hot for humid summer weather. I keep the front partially unzipped to let in some wind so I don't roast and I stop to take off the suit once I've cleared the rain.

The quality of this rainsuit is outstanding and I am not one to offer praise that is not warranted. In a world where it seems nearly everything is shoddy crap from China, this rainsuit sets a standard for others to match.

The material, the stitching, the overlapping velcro, the zippers, and even the elastic foot straps are all well made. When you consider that this suit is half the cost of the better known brands, it becomes a steal.

That is a characteristic I have noticed with Jafrum's products - they have all been excellent quality.

In summary, this rainsuit does not have a hood and I cannot recommend one that does, but this suit is money well spent so choose wisely.
