I bought this suit for my husband and I liked it so much I ordered it for me as well. We haven't had a chance to use them yet but we are heading to Yosemite at the end of the month so we will defiantly be taking them with us.
I got the red and black suit and I like the way it is made and colors........Well, one good thing happened since I got it I had no rain and haven't put it on.......But when it does I'm sure the med. that I wanted will be a good fit and keep me dry....................Thanks Jafrum for the fast develivery that you always do for me...You guys are the best!
This suit fits good over my jacket and seems well built. Pleased with the rain suit.
Suit seems heavy and well made. I have not had a chance to wear it in the rain. Appears to be a lot of suit for the money. Great service from Jafrum along with their guarantee. I would have preferred the model with hook and loop around the wrist vs elastic, but it was not available when I ordered.
Outstanding product especially for the price.
Fit and price was GREAT ! #
Nice Quality rain gear...I'm sure it will do the job just fine when the time comes to ride in the rain..
so this raingear fits just about as you would expect. /We ordered the size needed and it fit perfectly. After I bought a set for the gf, I bought another for me. The taped seams feel like they will last, and the gear looks very waterproof
My brother appreciated this rain suit with its bright color & its fit & function. It appears well made and a bargan at the price.
I bought this rain suit for my son-in-law for his birthday. He said it fit very well and liked it very much. Points made for the mother-in-law..
I got these for my husband for Christmas. They fit wonderfully, but are a tad long for him. I don't foresee that being a problem though. I'm sure he'll try them out in the spring time when it's not -10 outside.
Bought 2 rainsuits for my son and myself. Didn't have to use them on a recent road trip. Not yet sure as to fit, but the suits appear to be of high quality. Looks as well made if not better than more expensive rain gear that I've in local shops.
Very fast shipping. Looks like a nice rain suit. Havent had to use it yet. Great value. Thx
Nice rainsuit. I like the bright color so I showup better when I get caught out in the rain
I've been riding with my husband on his HD Ultra Classic for years and never owned any raingear. It's not fun getting caught in a downpour. So, I started searching for a two-piece rain suit to fit a petite woman that be within my budget. I came across Thunder Under while surfing the net. I was hesitant about buying it w/o trying it on first. I ordered it on a Friday evening and it arrived at my house on the following Tuesday. I couldn't wait to try it on! I put on my chaps and jacket so I could get the true feel of the rain suit on top. WHAT A SHOCKER...it fit me to a "T" and I was able to move around w/o any problems. I love the number of pockets and the zippers with the velcro cover closing. I almost bought a small size, after looking at the measurements I went with the XS size. I'm so glad I did! For all the Harley Lovers I got the black and orange rain suit. ; ) I can't wait to use it in the rain!
The product shipped as stated, it seems to be a well made product for the price. Haven't had a chance to use it in the rain yet but it appears to be a product that will hold up well. Like the reinforcement locations on typical wear locations on the pants, wasn't expecting that.
Very quick shipping, nice design. I certainly would recommend the two piece suit. I've only had the opertunity to use it once, but I remained completely dry. Excellent affordable product.
This suit was recommended to me by a friend, and it certainly delivered on his promise. I didn't have time to do a wet test prior to taking it along on my trip, and – lo and behold – we hit a big storm. I whipped the suit out, tore of the tags, threw it on, and it did its part. I threw it over heavy pants and a jacket, and it had plenty of room to spare. In fact, it was a bit baggier than I'd like, but that's simply in regards to "appearance." (You know– ya gotta look good when riding! Ha!). The extra looseness didn't cause in issues, like flapping in the wind or getting caught in/on things. It simply didn't fit tight, as a like things too, but I don't think you'll find an over-the-top rain suit that does that. Everything seemed to seal fine. There were no quality issues. (I'll update this review if any evolve.) Everything fit snug at the seems due to the snug elastic bands. And, everything stayed dry. Some "pros 'n cons" to consider– respectively: it's well-priced, it folds up to a very compact size, it seems to dry quickly, it has a front wallet pocket that seems to seal up well, and – most importantly – it keeps you dry. Downsides are that it's a bit "baggy," and it doesn't have shoulder straps (which didn't prove to be a problem, because the elastic bands held everything in place well).
The Thunder Under RS5001 two piece rainsuit is made from nylon. Nylon is a good fabric for a rainsuit because it is lightweight, easy to pack, and somewhat breathable. It can also be very reasonably priced. This complete suit with all of the features I'm about to show you is on sale on Jafrum.com for less than forty five dollars. The only downsides to nylon as a rainsuit fabric are that it is not flexible, most rainsuits aren't flexible, and it doesn't hold up to sunlight very well. All that means to you the rider is that you don't want to lay it out in the sun for extended periods of time to dry. If you take proper care of a nylon suit it will provide you with protection from the elements for many years and miles.
This rainsuit has almost every feature available in this type of apparel, and It is available in five color ways. The suits are primarily black with accent color choices of blue, yellow, orange, red and gray. There are high viz strips across the back and near the cuffs of the pants.
Let's take a closer look at the three quarter length jacket. This jacket has a durable plastic zipper that is covered by these dual panels and secured with a hook and loop system to ensure a waterproof closure. All the seams are tape sealed as well to keep the water out. The dual pockets on the front of the jacket have full width hook and loop closures making them nearly completely waterproof and share the highlight color of the shoulders.
The fit on this jacket is very good. There is a stretchy band all the way around the jacket to reduce buffeting at speed. The only adjustment features that are missing on this jacket that would be nice are maybe some adjusters on the sleeves and a draw cord system at the opening. They're nice to have to keep the jacket quiet especially if you ride a bike with little or no wind screen. The cuffs have stretchy material all the way around for a secure fit.
The interior of the jacket has been equipped with a mesh lining. This will help wick moisture away from your skin and also keep the rain gear from sticking to your skin when you start to sweat.
Now let's get a look at the pants. The waist of the pants is stretchy all the way around and has a draw string for adjustability. The cuffs of the legs are also adjustable. Open this high viz clad hook and loop closure to expose the zippered expanders with waterproof gussets. The pocket on the pants has a hook and loop closure system and is almost completely waterproof. There are reinforced panels in high wear areas on the both the backside and also on the legs where the fabric can come into high heat areas and rub on footpegs. The legs also have removable stirups to help keep your pantlegs from riding up and letting water into your boots.
This has been a closer look at the Thunder Under RS5001 Two Piece Motorcycle Rainsuit.
The jacket has lasted but i ripped the pants when i was rushing to get them on in a sudden down pour.
Sorry it took me a few days to answer your question. The jacket has a mesh lining. The inside of the pants feels like a rubbery material rain proof lining. I've used it once during a downpour and it kept me very dry. I'm very please with my purchase.
I purchased this rain suit about a year ago and have had several opportunities over the summer to see how well it performs. I ride about 10,000 miles a year in city-country mix conditions.
I live in Central Florida and some of our summer rain storms are like hurricanes without a name.
To begin with, this suit does not have a hood. I was a little concerned with that when I purchased it but I reasoned that I wear a full face helmet and have a full size wind screen so maybe I could get by.
For the record, not once did I ever have rain running down my neck or back due to not having a hood. This is true for both highway speeds and well as stop-and-go city driving where rain tends to puddle.
This suit kept me bone dry in the heaviest of summer Florida thunderstorms! Now with that said, it's also a little hot for humid summer weather. I keep the front partially unzipped to let in some wind so I don't roast and I stop to take off the suit once I've cleared the rain.
The quality of this rainsuit is outstanding and I am not one to offer praise that is not warranted. In a world where it seems nearly everything is shoddy crap from China, this rainsuit sets a standard for others to match.
The material, the stitching, the overlapping velcro, the zippers, and even the elastic foot straps are all well made. When you consider that this suit is half the cost of the better known brands, it becomes a steal.
That is a characteristic I have noticed with Jafrum's products - they have all been excellent quality.
In summary, this rainsuit does not have a hood and I cannot recommend one that does, but this suit is money well spent so choose wisely.
