Slanted saddle bags for Vulcan 900

Comment: I purchased these bags first for inexpensiveness but they were very well made, I purchased a little larger to go on my Vulcan 900, I made my own brackets and the bags fit very nice, Thanks Jafrum....................007Skyfall Southern Pines,NC

If you need to carry some gear around with you but don't want to spend a saddle bag full of money to do it, then these SD216 or SD217 saddlebags could be the perfect solution.
These bags measure 18 x 9.5x7 inches, and are made from a material called PVC, or polyvinyl chloride. This is the same super tough material that pipe is made out of but with plasticizers added to make it soft and flexible. What that means to you is you get the look and feel of leather but at a fraction of the cost. To be clear, this is a value priced set of saddlebags. Is PVC as durable as top grain leather? No. Do these have all the features found on a high dollar set of OEM saddlebags? Of course not. Are they worth at least double their price? Absolutely.
These bags are an adjustable throw over style bag and are available with or without the studs. The 216 is without studs and the 217 has them covering the top and sides of the lid and around the bottom of the face of the bag. Both versions sport easy carry handles on their lids, and added metal d rings offer additional mounting support. As with all throw over style saddlebags, saddlebag mounting brackets like the Saddlebag Support Bracket A kit are highly recommended. These brackets will offer an additional place to secure the bags using the d rings and keep them from getting pulled into the wheel when full. Once mounted, they can be easily removed from the bike without removing the yoke by simply zipping them off. Another item to consider when purchasing would be some waterproof saddlebag covers. This bag's lid design makes it water resistant, but without a cover, water can get into the bag in heavy rain. If you open up the bags using the quick release buckles, you can see they have a semi rigid layer of plastic laminated between the layers of pvc and a ribbon of metal at the opening to help the bags keep their shape.
