New for 2014, these
Alpinestars Stella SMX-2 Air Carbon gloves are a great choice for the lady
rider looking for a lightweight, high performance, and breathable glove for the
street. These gloves are made of a little bit of everything, from top grain
leather, to 3D mesh, to synthetic suede. There’s also thermoplastic rubber and
the carbon fiber from whence they get their name.
These gloves are available in ladies sizes extra small to large, and the fit is
Alpinestars. These will fit true to size if you have a more slender hand
shape, but if you have stronger shaped hands, you may need to go up a size.
There is a size chart on the listing to help you establish fitment.
These gloves are covered from fingers to wrist in detail. If we start on the
palm side of the glove, you can see the synthetic suede fingers with silicone
grips laminated to the fingertips. On the index finger, is a metallic material
insert that allows you to manipulate capacitive type touch screens like those on
most cell phones. This material is also found on the thumbs, which is awesome
because now you can text while riding. Well, right up until the point of impact,
anyway. As we move down the palm, you can see textured synthetic panels for
extra grip, and padded reinforcements on the thenar and hypothenar areas of the
palm. At the wrist, is a hook and loop strap for perfecting the fit.
If we flip the glove over, you can see the leather and mesh panels of the
fingers, with TPR details. The fourchettes, or areas in between the fingers, are
synthetic suede at the tips for durability, with a breathable and stretchy
material closer to the hand. As we move down the hand we come to the SMX-2’s
chief feature, the carbon reinforced knuckle protector. Finally, on the top of
the hand, you can see the TPR Astar detailing and the flex panel with mesh
Again, these new
Alpinestars SMX-2 Air Carbon
motorcycle riding gloves
are an excellent choice for the lady rider looking for protection and
breathability in a lightweight glove for the street.
