Hi, ordered the LGT jacket. Monday got it Thursday. I was worried about sleeve size. Long arms 30" I'm 6'1 170 lb. the. Only concern I have is with the armor in the sleeve at the elbow. My old jacket had a strap to hold it from moving.

Great fit..love the visibility of the jacket..exactly what I was looking for
I was actually shopping for a Juant 2 jacket from Firstgear, but I just couldn't picture how I would use all of the pockets. And if I can't use them, why have them? Turns out, this jacket is a better, lighter version, minus the pockets! It doesn't need a separate liner for rain, it's pockets are well built and well placed, and the fit is spot-on. I'm 6'4", 235lbs so I knew I'd need an XL, and the 'Tall' option made sense. Glad I went with the Tall! The sleeve length is perfect, leaned over on my ZX11, as is the length of the back, going just the right amount past my waist. No more showing off my tidy whities! Seriously, though, this jacket is built like a tank, the venting is impressive (except when wearing a backpack - the straps go right over the vents!), and it sheds water like a duck's back. I usually prefer snaps to Velcro, but this Velcro feels very dense and top quality. Only drawback? Not getting the Hi-Viz. The black looks really great, but I'm too old for that to be the motivation. Should have gone Hi-Viz. The pads stay still and are unnoticeable once in the riding position. Buy this jacket. You won't regret it.
This Rush Tex 2 Jacket is the updated second generation of this excellent Spring and Fall choice from First Gear. This is one of the excellent values in FirstGear’s lower cost 1ST Experience line of apparel. Every piece of gear in this line has a specific set of functions based on riding conditions. This Rush Tex 2 is for the rider looking for a solid textile riding jacket with the protection of CE rated armor in a waterproof chassis.
The Rush Tex 2’s shell is made of a waterproof and breathable 600 Denier polyester material called Hypertex, and is available in three colorways including this black. There is an all silver version and a dayglo, or hi-viz version available as well. The fit of this jacket is pretty straight forward. It’s true to size, with just a little bit of fullness to accommodate a thermal base layer or a hoody. It’s available in regular sizes small to four x, and tall sizes medium to two xl. There’s a size chart at the bottom of the listing to help you establish your fit.
Let’s take a look at some of the features. The ventilation is zippered and can be found here on the shoulders, and across the upper back. These areas will offer quite a bit of relief on warm days, but probable not enough for the full heat of summer. The Rush Mesh or the Mesh Tex jackets from the same 1st Experience line of FirstGear apparel would be a better choice for riding in the hot.
Storage can be found here with two zippered hand warmer pockets. The rest of the storage can be found inside the jacket. If you unfasten the YKK main closure zipper, you’ll find the water repelling dual rain flap. Unfasten it, and you will expose a hidden zipper pocket and the secondary liner zipper. Both the main closure zipper and the liner zipper are two way, meaning the gear can be unzipped from the bottom up to offer improved mobility. Inside the jacket, you can see the balance of the pockets, including a mobile device pocket on the rider’s left, and a map pocket on the right that also makes an excellent spot for extra gloves or liners. In between this polynylon mesh lining and the shell is a nylon waterproof membrane with taped seams that makes sure no water gets through.
Protection is had in the way of CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows, with an EVA foam back pad. Low light visibility is improved with the use of reflective piping on the shoulders and across the back, with reflective FirstGear emblems on the shoulders. Also for protection, is an eight inch zipper attachment on a tendon panel for attaching your favorite pair of riding pants.
Finally, on the sides at the waist, we see some adjustability in the form of these hook and loop adjusters. The cuffs of the sleeves are also adjustable with hook and loop straps.
All in all, the FirstGear Rush Tex 2 motorcycle riding jacket is an excellent choice for the budget conscious rider looking for a light duty waterproof jacket for the Spring and Fall.
