Wearing gloves while riding a motorcycle is important for obvious reasons. Even fingerless gloves offer some protection from the asphalt in a crash. There are other reasons, too. Most important, is the improved relationship between you and your motorcycle’s controls. When your hands get sweaty, they become very slippery against your grips, whether you have rubber grips or metal. The oils in your sweat are also very damaging to your grips, reducing their life. New for 2014, these Vento gloves from Joe Rocket, are a great choice for the rider looking for a highly breathable, ultra lightweight fingerless glove, that will offer some protection for your hands and grips. These Vento gloves are made of a combination of polyester mesh, Aeroprene, and leather, a great combination of materials for this type of glove. The fit of these Vento gloves is pretty accurate. They don’t run large or small, they’re just right. These gloves are very stretchy, though, so if you are typically in between sizes, you may want to go with the smaller size to avoid extra material in the palm area. Looking at the palm, you can see the all leather construction that is reinforced with gel padding. This padding reduces the vibration felt through the grips and provides added impact absorption. At the wrist, you can see the Aeroprene cuff. This feature, combined with the Velcro adjuster on the top of the hand, provide a fit that is much more precise than the fit of most fingerless gloves. While we’re on the top of the hand, you can see the large cell, breathable mesh material and the Aeroprene padding for the knuckles. In between the fingers, is a highly stretchy material that offers excellent mobility for your fingers.
