These new for spring 2014
Joe Rocket Sonic
Sport gloves are going to be an excellent option for the street rider looking
for a glove that offers incredible comfort and mobility. Not to be confused with
Rocket’s beefier Sonic gloves, these Sonic Sport gloves are designed to
offer the protection of drum died leather in a chassis that is truly one of the
most comfortable available.
These gloves are incredibly lightweight, and available in sizes small to triple
x, and the fit is very generous. I typically wear a medium in Joe Rocket gloves,
and these mediums are actually a hair on the big side for me. I like my all
leather gloves to be pretty snug when they’re new, knowing that they’re gonna
break in a little. But, if you like a roomier fit, just order your regular size.
One of my favorite aspects of the design of these gloves is the extensive use of
accordion style flex panels. These panels promote a precurved glove shape that
eliminates bunched up material between your hand and the grip. Extra material,
of course, leads to fatigue. The use of flex panels is brilliant, though,
because despite the precurved shape, you still have full mobility of your hand
with no resistance, which also reduces fatigue. You get the best of both worlds.
You also have flex panels on all four fingers, and below the wrist for truly
unrestricted range of motion.
Protection comes in the way of this TPU knuckle protector, as well as this
padded leather reinforcement in the impact zone of the lower palm and the
outside of the hand. There isn’t a Velcro adjuster at the wrist, which
definitely solidifies this as a medium duty glove for the street. But, there is
a comfortable elastic band, and a soft, adjustable gauntlet. This versatile
gauntlet can be worn inside or outside of the cuff of your jacket sleeve,
depending on your preference. All in all, this new Sonic Sport glove from
Joe Rocket is an
excellent choice for the street rider looking for
the protection of cowhide leather in an incredibly comfortable package.
