New for 2014, these new Sanctuary gloves from Icon are a great choice for the rider looking for an ultra-lightweight, tough looking glove for the street. This is also a great glove for riders that like to color coordinate. These gloves are part of an apparel duo that includes the Sanctuary leather jacket. The gloves are available in four colorways including this all black, and match up perfectly with the seven different jacket colorways. The fit of these gloves is pretty generous. The fingers are true to size, lengthwise, but the hand is fairly wide, so these are an excellent choice for riders with wide, muscular hands.

If we look at the palm side first, you can see the fairly basic design of the glove. The fingers and palm of the hand are a single piece of non-reinforced Battlehide Goatskin. This isn’t going to be the end all be all of crash protection, but this setup does offer a very lightweight chassis. One of these gloves weighs less than two and a half ounces. You can’t even tell you have them on. The simple design also offers an excellent feel of the grips and other controls, making this a good option for the lot stunter. As we move down the hand, you can see the light reinforcement for the outside of the hand, and the Velcro wrist closure.

If you turn the glove over, you can see that the fingers have some light rubberized armor that is fused to the high flow mesh. The fourchettes of the fingers are suede for the most part, turning to mesh as you get closer to the hand. The knuckle protection on the Sanctuary gloves is very unique. They have a malleable armor material with suede heat pressed over top of it. It offers a very clean look because there is no stitching visible at all on the top of the hand. As we move toward the wrist, you can see more rubber detail fused to the mesh panel here in the metacarpal area, featuring the Icon logo

Again, these Sanctuary gloves from Icon are a great choice for the rider looking for a little bit of street protection out of one of the lightest weight gloves available.
