Comment: Finally a safety vest that feels tough and wont flap around like a colored rag, waterproof pocket comes in handy, I love mine
A silly product category to try and save money
Comment: I'm an .... ah, mature rider, and much more concerned about safety than 20 or 30 years ago. I'm frequently amazed at those things for which riders will pay a premium and those where they attempt to save money.
I have a friend who wears a construction workers safety vest for which he paid less than $10. It fits poorly, flaps in the wind, has no pockets, is made of flimsy fabric that would rip upon contact with almost anything. It lacks reflective strips that provide night visibility. It's junk.
But, hey, it was a bargain: $10. This guy has some money. He rides a BMW R1200RT, a $20,000+ plus motorcycle that he purchased new about three years ago. Man, for pete's sake, get a quality Hi-Vis vest and the Olympia is exactly such a product. It's extremely well constructed; I expect to wear it for at least three years.
I won't list all the features, which are in the discription. I'm 6'2", 210, and wear a heavy touring jacket when riding in the winter. I went with the NeoYellow, XL/XXL and the fit is snug/perfect. When wearing it in warmer weather it has ample room for adjustment. I expect the Olympia
Are there cheaper Hi Viz vests? Obviously. But is a product you really want to save a few dollars. IMO, I think not.
