The American Beauty jacket for the ladies looks almost identical to the men’s Cruise Missile, and there are obviously similarities. This isn’t just a scaled down size chart, though. The cut of this jacket is completely different than the men’s, and the adjustability is located in places more useful for creating a feminine shape.

This jacket is constructed of an AR-600 poly chassis with laser perforated leather panels across the chest, on the upper arms, and across the back. The American beauty is available in two colorways; this black, cream and orange version, and a distressed denim looking version called vintage black. There is some subtle yet elegant text that reads American Beauty embroidered on the right sleeve. This is going to be a jacket best suited for milder weather, but can handle some colder weather with the right layering. It does have a removable full sleeve quilted thermal liner, but the perforation on the chest and back will negate much of the liner’s ability to retain your body heat if it’s too cold. This jacket will handle

a cool spring or fall morning or evening, though, no problem.

This riding jacket is available in ladies sizes extra small to double extra-large and the cut is very forgiving and the adjustability is successful. You can adjust the hourglass nature of the shape using the buckle type adjusters above the hips, and these zippered gussets on the rear. The cuffs are also hook and loop adjustable and lined with microfiber for added comfort. Range of motion is improved with the use of accordion style stretch panels on the fronts of the shoulders, and expansion joints on the backs of the shoulders.

The jacket is simple in design, with a very clean look, so storage is limited to two zippered hand warmer pockets on the front, and a hidden zipper pocket on the inside flap. Ventilation can be found in the perforated areas of the jacket and the zippered vents on the biceps and running down the outside of the back.

Protection comes from lightweight, CE rated Vault armor in the shoulders, elbows, and back, and loops with snaps for connecting the jacket to your belt. For added visibility at night, reflective piping has been added across the shoulders on the back. While we’re looking at the back, you can also see the leather accent panel at the base of the neck, and the contrast stitching.
