The SS600 is Speed and Strength’s retro styled open face motorcycle helmet, and features a DOT approved Thermo plastic alloy shell. It features an intermediate oval to round head shape, a comfortable quilted liner, and intake and exhaust vent ports, which are not often found on these retro style helmets. Nothing says retro open face like metal flake. Not all metal flake is the same, though. The substrate used to create the sparkling nature of a metal flake finish comes in a lot of different varieties. The biggest difference in how one flake looks compared to another is the actual size of the metal pieces. The flake on these Speed Metal colorways is very small, like tiny glitter, so the reflectivity of the metal flake is more on the subtle side. It’s nice to have subtle as a choice sometimes. The Speed Metal SS 600 is available in four colors including gold, red, black, and this orange. Let’s take a closer look at this new orange Speed Metal colorway.
