Speed And Strength SS600 Helmet Sizing

How to Measure a proper helmet

SIZING:To measure your head size, wrap a tape measure horizontally around your forehead. Select the helmet that is the closest fit to that size. A helmet should fit snug on your head. If it moves while wearing, it is too large. If it is painful to wear, it is too small. For proper sizing, your nearest dealer will be able to help you get sized up.

FITTING: Open the chin straps and slide the helmet onto your head starting at the forehead. A helmet should feel snug. If it slides on easily it is too big. It should feel tight to pull down. Make sure the inner padding fits snug all around. You should feel the padding pressing against your cheeks and head. The last check for a proper fit is to test if it moves while wearing, there should be no movement if you shake your head. Place your hands on the helmet and move it front to back and side-to-side. If there is a lot of movement, try a size down.

style helmets. To see the SS600 in greater detail, check out the closer look video on our website.

Gary Nixon is one of the racing icons from the sixties and seventies that I really look up to as a rider. He was a tough dude. He could be injured, battered, broken, it didn’t matter. He raced anyway, and he won. He was just a little guy, but he was famous for strolling up to the starting line and saying things like ”So, which one of you sorry s.o.b.’s is coming in second? Gary Nixon was a two time AMA Grand National Champion, which meant that you rode at a championship level at five different types of motorcycle racing, on multiple surfaces. You didn’t specialize in just one event the way you do now. The old-schoolers could do everything. Gary Nixon passed away in August of two thousand and eleven at a cantankerous seventy years of age. This helmet graphic was created in his honor. Let’s take a closer look.
