Great Jacket-I used the measurement chart and then went one size bigger and the jacket fits perfectly. With real hot weather take out the lining and the wind will keep you cool. Put the lining back in for slightly cooler weather and you will still be comforable while riding in the trees in the evening. Haven't had to use the rain cover.

Just received this jacket and as always I was concerned about the sizing. Had recently purchased a different jacket from Jafrum and ordered a XXL, and it fit very well. But that jacket did not have any armour or some of the extra features that this jacket had, which in my mind may require extra space. So I bought the 3XL. Must say the jacket fits very well. Not sure how strong the mesh will be in a spill but it does give me the added protection with the armour. Its winter here now so no riding at all, but looking forward to the spring when I can take my bike and this jacket out for some rides!
This jacket is just what was advertised. Fit is good, quality is good, and the price was the best. Very comfortable and looks good also. I would recommend this product to anyone
Love this jacket! Great looking, comfortable and versatile!
I ordered it in black and it looks great. I have always wore leather before so I don't really know how to review it. I do know its a awesome looking jacket and comes with so many extras, its worth way more than I paid for it.
This jacket is way better than I expected. In the description it says 150D shell. The tag on the jacket says outer layer 600D, The jacket is heavy but not heavy when you are wearing it. I road today and it was 90 degrees it was nice and cool when moving . When stopped it was a little warm but over all was more comfortable since it kept the hot sun off my skin. I think this jacket will work for most weather. When it gets real cold I wear leather. I think leather offers move protection and this jacket will offer decent protection when it is to warm for leather. I thought this jacket would be low quality and a waste of money, but now that I have the jacket and can see the quality I would paid more and not thought twice about buying it if it was hanging in the local bike shop.
By writing in detail about your product you are helping your biker buddies make better choices. Thank you.
Just started biking and not sure about buying leather jacket yet; this jacket with removable armor is a steal at $49 !! Love the fact that the lining is removable; makes the jacket much lighter for hot days. Size is "spot on" by using the size chart.....bought men's jacket for myself since I am a larger lady and some of the ladies' jackets don't fit correctly. Appreciate the shorter length of this jacket as some mens' jackets are extremely long. Very surprised when jacket arrived on hanger in a zippered plastic cover; didn't expect such a high quality product for the price...thank you Jafrum !
it is a great all season jacket will keep you protected and cool in the summer and nice and warm in the winter and the rain jacket works well also I highly recommend this jacket
The jacket fits true to size, at least for me. My only negative comment would be the elbow pads. You are supposed to be able to hold them in place with the velcro straps. The strap is very long, but the area of velcro-receptor material on the jacket is not long at all. When I have it fully tightened, it is still very loose around the elbows, allowing the CE pads to float freely. God forbid I'm ever in a crash, I do not have much confidence that the elbow pads will be where I need them. I plan to have extra velcro-receptors sewn onto the jacket. On the positive side, this jacket is really cool during hot rides. Just last night, I was riding in 85 degree heat (and very humid). I stayed very cool (even using a windshield). The only time I ever sweat in this jacket is when I'm using a backpack. The included foam back pad will also make you sweat, but it is worthless for crash protection, so I ditched it.
This is an all weather jacket,it is comfortable to wear well made and all in all a fine jacket
This was my first time ordering from JAFRUM. I don't usually order from anybody on the internet. I didn't expect.such a nice jacket. The quality is great. I ordered a 3X in silver . I am very happy with my purchase. And have now ordered a pair of gloves to go with it. THANKS JAFRUM
I ordered this jacket a couple months ago and have enjoyed it in every way... i have used it to ride only a couple of times and it felt perfect the fit was amazing using the sizing chart. Another plus about this jacket ia it is comfirtable enough to wear on the day to day. I have been using it as a normal jacket, its that comfotable
I dont think i noticed when i bought this it had nothng but 5 star reviews so let me add to them. This is a great looking jacket that is one of the few not to long in the arm for me. It has armor all around and the liner works well too. It seems pretty durable although i have only worn it once or twice. The only downsides are like no internal pocket but it would be tough to put on in a mesh jacket. I think this was $ and id say its well worth it.
This is a pretty great jacket. The mesh allows for plenty of airflow when it's hot, and it also includes a liner and an outer shell for when it's cold or rainy. The sizing is generous and comfortable. The armor is great, too. Flexible, but clearly would be good in a crash. My only complaint about this jacket is that it is slightly too short in the front for me, but I have a long torso, so that will likely not be a problem for most other people. I still give it 5 stars.
I ordered the medium in this jacket -- it fits me snug -- but that is the way it should fit for riding not fashion. I have a Honda VTX ; I am 5'9" 165-170 lbs and my arms are about a 34". The jacket fits fine but I can see why people would be inclined to order one size up to give it that baggier feeling. But for me and the wind the medium is fine. One thing I did note is I cannot fold it up and squeeze it into my saddlebags (because of the body armor plates) like I do with my leather jacket. I live in south florida so I ride all year. I can use this jacket on warm and the liner should work for our brutal 60 degree winters (LOL)
I recently bought this jacket and I love it. Works well with all the features and pads. Looks cool and with the in/out lining works good at night and day for cool or warmth. Can't beat the price for quality and comfort.
i definitely recommend it for any fall rider who is serious about looking good, and staying warm.fall spring and light winter that is .. not to mention the superb price.
I love it. I wear a medium (42" chest) and Medium fits me perfectly. It's slightly heavier than I expected with the liner and armor in. Very warm and comfortable and a great price
this is a great jacket at a great price I ordered one size up from what I wear I ordered a 3x when I wear a 2x and it fit perfectly make sure to order one size larger than you wear. The jacket let's plenty of air through to be cool but yet keeps you warm. I had the liner in wore a sweatshirt in 46 degrees at highway speeds it kept me plenty warm any cooler than that you will have to pull out the rain cover to use a windbreaker highly recommended
I can’t lie, this Merit jacket from Vega surprised me a little bit. For a fully armored motorcycle riding jacket at this low of a price, you come to not expect very much. In fact, you come to not expect anything at all. At first glance, this jacket looks like what you’d expect, the one hundred percent polyester shell is predictably a little coarse feeling, and the tall, heavily padded collar looks like a poor choice on what initially appears to be a jacket designed only for hot weather. But, then, you start to look closer at the features and there’s a lot of good things going on here.
The first thing I noticed is that all of the closures feature quality SBS zippers. Zippers are usually the first thing to go on any value priced or entry level jacket. You won’t have to worry about that with the Merit. In looking at the zippers, I also noticed that all of the seams are double stitched. Not bad.
The protection offered by the Merit is also actually quite good. What the jacket gives up in tensile strength with its polyester shell, it more than makes up for by having full CE armor in not just the shoulders and elbows, but in the back as well. Most mesh jackets offer just a foam back pad. You also get a zippered attachment in the rear to connect a pair of riding pants. Even this feature is well thought out. Vega used a strong but flexible material to tendon the zipper to the jacket to keep the zipper from ripping out of the polyester in a crash. They have also added high viz piping effectively to the jacket to increase visibility at night.
Adjustability is more than sufficient. Most waist adjustment, if there is any, on a jacket in this price point, will consist of nothing more than a hook and loop strap, which we do see here. But, on the Merit, it’s accompanied by a stretch panel and an expandable zippered gusset. You have adjusters on the sleeves, which are extra important on a mesh jacket to reduce buffeting, and hook and loop gusseted cuffs that are lined with a soft material so the polyester shell doesn’t touch your skin
The next feature I’m going to show you is what really impressed me about this jacket. Most mesh jackets will offer some sort of removable, waterproof zip out liner; and, while these do work to keep you dry, they do nothing to keep the shell of your jacket dry. Plus, if the liner is not installed, and it begins to rain, you could be soaked by the time you get the jacket off, liner installed, and jacket back on. If you do manage to get the liner installed before the rain comes, you are still stuck with water logged gear when you reach your destination. Enter Vega’s Amphitex system. The Merit hides a zip off, waterproof, windproof, and breathable shell in this little pocket in the back. With a little practice, you can get this shell out of its pocket and put on in just a few seconds, without taking the jacket off. Now, not only do you not have to take your jacket off to install a liner, but now you can arrive at your destination without a water logged jacket to deal with.
Lastly we see the removable, quilted thermal liner. With most mesh jackets, these are one hundred percent completely and totally useless. Without a windproof shell, a thermal liner has little or no chance at actually retaining any body heat. With the Amphitex shell installed, though, this liner will keep you comfortable with a light base layer under it down to about 50 degrees. Heavy layering could take you well below that. Not too shabby for a value priced mesh jacket.
I’m not sure just how this email thing works in regards to replying back to you all at Jafrum, But I just wanted to say thanks for answering my question regarding the Vega Merit Mesh Jacket for all seasons. It’s a shame that Vega no longer makes this jacket. It was perfect for me, and just what I was wanting. However I did go forth, and I purchased the Vega Mercury Mesh Jacket from you at Jafrum. I can hardly wait to get it. I will keep checking your site to see if anything else should come in. I am on your mailing list, so I do get notices… Again I thank you for the help.
