GMax GM55S Helmet with Retractable Sun Shield

Comment: I have always used either HCI or Fulmer helmets. I decided to give the Gmax GM55S a try. This is by far the best overall helmet I have ever owned. As soon as it arrived I put it on and rode for over 50 miles. I hardly knew I was wearing a helmet. It is very light and comfortable. Great buy!

Comment: When I first put it on I was a little disappointed with the fit. When I measured my head - 60 cm - so I ordered the large. It fits very snugly. Almost too snug. But when I am out riding, I am almost unaware that I have a helmet on. And I would be happier with it if the sun visor came down another half inch. But all in all I am happy with my purchase.

Comment: Jafrum comes through again! Great product, lightweight as stated so you can ride for and extended period of time and not suffer any head or neck pain...if you do. GREAT PRICE! The helmet is excellent if you're looking for a half-helmet with a great look. Jafrum delivers as promised, which is why I continue to buy from them! Make sure you order one or even two sizes larger than you normally would order, as the helmet sizes run small. Jafrum is the best!

Comment: This is a very light weight helmet. The fit is good, but as my Wife said...It loos a little "Bulbous" while on. Not as sleek and low profile as I had hoped for, but overall not a bad helmet. Jafrum once again surprised me with ease of purchase and speed of shipping.

Comment: I have been looking for a low profile half helmet and this looks low profile on some people....not on me. It is the most comfortable helmet of the three I purchased from Jafrum (the Vega Naked and the Checkered Pudding Bowl being the other two) and although, the Vega Naked is the most low profile half helmet I could find, this GM55 is so comfortable that I just might keep all three and switch them out...the visor does not come down far enough in my opinion, but still looks cool when down. It gives it an aviator helmet/pilot look. You may still need your glasses on underneath, but it is one comfy helmet! Great helmet for the price and it's DOT certified. Nice hemet. At $58 you can't go wrong in giving it a try....especially with Jafrum's generous 60 return policy!

Comment: i really dig this helmet. it a excellent fit, sit's low on my head and very light weight. it a true extention of my melon! at 85 mph....oh aa i mean 70 mph i felt wind no blow back or pull up on this helmet. the visor down really help in aspect. if you planning a long ride i highly recommend ear plug for the loud wind noise which our expected with these kind of head gear. this is VERY COOL looking bucket. it even made my ugly mug look good a feat in it self !!! overall i give it a 9.8 out of 10. whoaaaa

Comment: By far the most comfortable helmet I have been able to find. The flip down shield is of no use. Just goes to show that you don't have to spend a lot of money for a quality helmet!

Comment: Its light weight, good price, and is true to size. I like its no frills look. Good summer helmet. The sunshield works great. One modification I would like to see added is on the sunshield to where the helmet can hold more than one shield so you can have both clear and smoke at your disposal.

Comment: Finally, the helmet to solve my problem with getting a helmet to not look stupid on me. Am VERY happy with it and really like the neck curtain. Follow the instructions to order a size smaller than usual. I'm normally an M but ordered the S and it fits perfectly. Actually, the fit and comfort is as big a plus as the good proportions. But thats not all. I also really like the visor. Found it not really up to it for over 100 kph as the wind then starts blowing up under and blurring your vision but brilliant in showery weather as a foil to fogging glasses. Was a great saver on a 3 day group ride last week in the wet.

Comment: Very lightweight and comfortable, the wind doesnt pull it off my head like other half helmets I've tried due to all the air flow inside. Very cool and comfortable on a hot day. Retractable shield fits perfectly over my glasses as well. Love this thing!

Comment: I received this helmet as a gift from my wife. It is very light, cool, and comfortable, and the fit is such that it sits low on my head so it is very stable at highway speeds. The only thing I can say regarding improvements is the chin strap needs some hook and pile (velcro) to secure the end of the strap because the attached rubber band doesn't hold the strap so it flaps around in the wind. The drop down visor and the neck curtain are nice features, and I found that the visor drops down far enough to keep the wind out of my eyes (unlike some of the reviews I've read on the helmet). Overall I'm extremely happy with the helmet, and Jafrum has the best prices that I've found on the internet.
