AFX FX-76 Helmet Sizing
HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR CORRECT AFX HELMET SIZE.
MEASURE YOUR HEAD. Determine the circumference of the widest part of your head by using a flexible tape measure. Generally, the widest part of a person's head is the area 2.5 cm (1") above the eyes and ears. However, we suggest measuring at a few points both above and below that line to determine the greatest measurement before referring to our size tables. We also suggest testing the fit of a helmet one size smaller and one size larger then what the chart recommends. No helmet can provide protection if it's too uncomfortable to wear. If you would like further detailed instructions on how to determine your correct size please look at our AFX Helmet Fitting Guide.

Sale went perfectly! Helmet is great and as advertised. The sizing chart was spot on... Perfect fit!
I purchased this helmet after returning another helmet and this one worked out great. I really liked the shape and the color of the helmet. The only issue I have with the AFX is that the chin strap is too short.
The retro three quarter market is huge right now. So, naturally, more and more helmet companies are making these helmets. This gives you the buyer an excellent selection to choose from. They can differ dramatically in quality, so it's important to examine the features and materials when purchasing.
This AFX FX-76 is a helmet that has almost all the features available is this helmet style, but at about a hundred bucks, is also one of the least expensive.
The shell is constructed from an advance Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. The fiberglass gives the helmet added strength without adding much if any weight. This one I have here is an extra-large and weighs in at a little over two pounds.
The front has a three snap visor attachment but a visor is not included with the helmet. No love lost here for me. Most of the visors that come with these retro style three quarters are too low profile to block any sun; and, since they typically hurt the aerodynamics of the helmet, they are essentially useless. Face shield compatibility is important, though, and almost all flip up and bubble style shields on the market will fit this snap configuration. This helmet is DOT and ECE approved. The label is nicely done and covered by the clear coat so it won't come off. The flat black helmet is trimmed around the edge in black. The other color ways are trimmed in silver.
The interior is constructed from leather and hypo-allergenic, antimicrobial nylon. The cheek pads are easily removable and have a good amount of ear cavity space for speakers. However, some high end speakers are very thick to provide as much low frequency sound as possible. To accommodate these speakers you may need to trim this plastic area of the cheek pad. This will give you approximately a quarter inch of additional depth in the ear cavity area. The quilted head liner is unfortunately not removable. It is still washable, though, but you will have to submerge the helmet.
