Use 10.5 wide bought 11's. Fit well even with think wool socks. Water proof and comfortable. I use sweat pants or shorts under my riding pants. These shoes work well once I strip my riding gear off. The shoe laces are too short for my wide feet.

They have the protection of a boot and comfort of a tennis shoe. These would be nice when I rode scenic highways and then get off and hike a trail. I ordered my actual size and the fit was perfect. I like not having lugs on the bottom and gives me more freedom of movement.
Armored motorcycle riding shoes with the look of skate shoes have become very popular for their everyday looks and comfort off the bike. Most companies are making them, and some manufacturers have multiple models. Cortech definitely has some stiff competition. Alpinestars has the awesome new Joey, and Speed and Strength has the new Black 9’s, but these Cortech Vice shoes definitely hold their own. Here’s why.
First of all, they’re clean. Most of these skate style motorcycle shoes come distressed, or pre dirty. I’ll apply my own dirt thank you very much. Honestly, there only going to be clean for a week or two, but still, it’s a week or two. Let me tear ‘em up. Next, for me is the construction. The seams are all double stitched, and the high wear areas of the toe and heel are heavily reinforced. This shoe really is well made, and should hold up really well. You’re not just paying for branding. Another design feature I really like is the sole. Many of these more casual riding shoes have very soft soles, which is great for comfort, but may not provide the best shock absorption in a crash. These Vice shoes have a precurved sole, so the sole can be on the stiffer side, but the shoes are still remarkably comfortable to walk in. This is another model of footwear to come out this year that is totally disregarding the traditional standard of what a shoe is. Typically, a boot has a shank, and a shoe doesn’t. Well, this shoe has a reinforced shank for added safety. But, what are rules for if not to be broken, right?
Protection is also had by way of internally reinforced areas in the toe box, heel cup, and medial and lateral sides of the ankle. Your ankles also benefit from the Vice’s relatively tall height for a shoe. There is also a bit of reflectivity in the way of this panel at the bottom of the heel to make you more visible at night.
The icing on the cake is that these slick kicks are waterproof. The leather and heavy duty canvas uppers are lined with Hypora, which is a waterproof, yet breathable membrane. This micro porous material keeps your feet dry, but allows vaporized sweat to escape the shoe. Inside the shoe, you can see the absorbent liner material and the comfortable removable triple density insole.
These Vice Waterproof boots are available in sizes seven to fourteen, and I found the fit to run about a size to the large side. I often need a size larger to accommodate my wide feet, in boots or shoes that don’t offer wide widths. But, these shoes are fairly wide already, so even if you have wide feet, you will want to order your normal size, if not one size smaller than normal.
Overall, this new Vice Waterproof Shoe from Cortech is a uncompromising option for the rider looking for a comfortable and casual looking skate style shoe with the protection and durability of a modern motorcycle riding shoe.
