The Resistor Mesh Jacket from Joe Rocket is constructed of a variety of materials. The frame of the chassis is made of a 600 denier polyester based material called Rocktex. This material has good tensile strength and very high U.V. resistance. The high impact areas on the shoulders and elbows are made of a nylon based material called Hitena. This material has very high tensile strength and excellent abrasion resistance. For added airflow on warm rides, Freeair mesh panels have been added to the shoulders, arms, and back.
The resistor mesh jacket is available in 5 bold colorways including this orange and black. We also offer red, blue, yellow, and all black versions. There are Joe Rocket’s signature ovals on both of the shoulders, and rocket text on the chest, arms, and back.
It’s available in sizes small to 3XL, and the fit is very generous. This is going to be a great choice for you riders with very muscular builds. The arms are cut very full and there is a lot of room in the chest. The jacket is very adjustable, though, as well. So, it will fit medium build riders as well. Skinnier fellas may find it difficult to snug up the arms enough to get the armor in close to the elbow. The six point Sure fit custom adjustment system consists of these front pull adjusters at the waist. This front pull setup makes adjusting the waist incredibly easy. There is also adjustment at the arms with these snap style take-ups, and at the cuffs of the sleeves with these Velcro adjusters.
Not only does this Resistor jacket have a fuller cut, but the construction of the jacket itself also contributes to its wearability by riders with athletic builds. The use of mesh in the underarm, and these accordion style stretch panels on the back, offer an incredible range of motion. Whether you’re in a tuck position on a sport bike, or reaching for some apes on a bobber, you will be able to address your bike’s controls with minimal binding of the jacket.
Protection comes from the articulated CE rated armor in the shoulders and elbows. The pockets for the armor are on the exterior of this jacket, so the armor is easy to remove for jacket cleaning. There is also a foam spine protector in the back that can be upgraded to CE approved armor if you so desire. Also, for your protection, reflectives have been added to the sleeves below the shoulders, and across the back to increase your visibility in low light conditions. To protect the small of your back and rear end, this zippered tendon has been added to allow you to connect the jacket to a pair of riding pants. These loops can be used to connect the jacket to a belt when you’re wearing jeans.
If you unzip the vinyl main closure zipper, you will find a removable quilted thermal vest liner with a Velcro pocket. Beside the liner, inside the shell, is a hidden zippered pocket. If you remove the liner, you’ll find a fixed mesh liner that promotes airflow and mobility. Additional storage can be found on the outside of the jacket as well with these two zippered hand warmer pockets.
