Vega Summit 3 Helmet Sizing
Helmet Sizing Information.
To achieve proper helmet fitment, begin by finding your head circumference size using the method described below. Remember that the helmet sizing you choose should fit around the crown of your head comfortably with no pressure points. The cheekpads should fit firmly around your face. Once your chin strap is fastened, grab the chin bar of the helmet and move it side to side. Your cheeks should move with the helmet, which should not slide across your face. Different thickness cheekpads can be purchased to obtain the perfect fit.

Great helmet, but strap D rings too high up in helmet. sometimes very difficult to secure straps.
Great helmet and ventilates great..I always loved the modular feature. Loved that they had larger sizes at that price. All in all I would recommend
I measured as they said and got a nice fit. Am ha I g to get used to being all closed in and turning to look over shoulder is different..overall I am glad I got this. I do not need wind burn or sunburn on my face..
Ordered this helmet months ago and loved it once i took it out the box. Wearing it for about a month now and the love just keep on growing for the Vega Summit 3.1. Great fit, great air flow through all vents and great color (matte black). The sun visor is perfect during a day ride. This helmet feels like it was made just for me and i have already told friends about it and the price is unbelievable.
I purchased the vega summit three I find the finish outside and inside to be acceptable the only issue I have is it seems noisy and the shield doesn't like to close by the handle , maybe with time it will work better the sunshield linkage seems a little light weight also
I'm enjoying this modular helmet and have been impressed with the quality of it. I got it on closeout, so it was a real deal. The flip down sun shade is a nice feature and my friends have all complimented me on it's looks. I ordered my size based on the size chart and have been happy with the fit.
I bought this helmet for my significant other. I was impressed with the quality of this helmet for the price. It's as good as or better than my helmet that I paid twice as much for. Only drawback that I can see is the lever to close and raise the sun shield is pretty small and hard to find, especially if you have gloves on. All in all its a great helmet.
I picked this type of helmet for some reason but I have forgotten that reason. I picked this specific helmet because of the average rating and its 50% off price. When I was measuring myself for the size of this helmet, I had no measuring tape, just the 8" ruler on my letterman and some string but I still managed to get the correctly sized helmet. First impressions of this helmet are that it's HUGE. Its heavy, clunky restrictive both in head movement and in field of view, mostly downwards. When the visor is up, the weight shifts forward and pulls at your head tugging it downward. First time on the bike however this helmet started to worry me. Despite the cool 40 degree F temps, this helmet was hot. The visor began to fog up and I had a hard time managing my bike (first time riding). Then something amazing happened, I lifted the face shield and all the claustrophobic feelings and stress disappeared. I could see everything I needed to which mad a world of difference figuring out how to handle my bike and the trips up and down my long driveway, avoiding mud puddles and everything was so easy now. At super slow speeds, using this helmet as an open face helmet is amazing for noobs like me. Once I got my confidence up, it was off to the back streets for me. Of course the face shield came down for this but at speed, I didn't even notice I was wearing the helmet. That heat I felt was gone, the ventilation in this helmet is amazing around the face area when moving. The restrictive field of view was no longer noticed, I didn't even have an issue seeing my tank mounted speedometer. The only problems I saw with this helmet once I rode was that my chin and lower jaw got cold. I'm pretty sure any helmet will have that issue though. I will say I did not test the sun shield thing and I definitely did not test the crash protection provided by this helmet. If you're a new rider like me, I recommend this helmet. You get the comfort of an open face helmet for when you are first starting on your bike but you get most of the protection provided by a full face helmet when you finally hit the road.
I need now glasses for driving and have difficulty putting them on in my full face helmet. I decided to go for a modular helmet and this one seems perfect. It lifts up easily to put on glasses, have a drink, or talk to a traffic cop. Ventilation is adjustable, shield is easy to move. I am most excited about the sun shield that is easily operated from the outside, that my old helmet does not have. The sizing chart seems correct because the helmet fits me perfectly. I did not use it yet for riding but so far like everything. The only drawback that I see for now is that the helmet is made to be used with V-Com bluetooth communication system that is no longer available. I gave half a star less because of that.
I'll start with size. My head measures 23" which is normally a medium. Having been burned by helmets that are smaller than advertised I purchased a large Vega Summit 3; it fit well. The front pushes down a bit just above the eyebrows but it is manageable. Wind noise is quite a bit louder than my previous helmet but that is probably a result of this unit having cut outs for bluetooth earpieces. The clear shield goes up easily and stays up if so desired. The shaded drop down shield created a slightly distorted image so I preferred not to use it. Ventilation is okay but on a long ride I found the helmet to get heavy, putting a strain on the back of my neck. The flip up face locks tight in both the up and down position and I had no problem putting my glasses back on after putting the helmet on. For the price you can't really complain, in fact I bought one for my wife after testing mine for a while.
Ordered the 3.0 but got the 3.1. Not sure what is different but I would think it is an upgrade. The fit was snug but I think in time it will fit just fine.
This is a great helmet. Jafrum Customer Service far exceeded my expectations for service! Jafrum went beyond what most companies, I have dealt with, would do to correct a wrong color shipment to make the customer happy (and get me on the bike, since I can not ride legally without a helmet)! The Pearl Yellow is an outstanding Color to get people's attention. I can not understand why people wear colors, especially black or silver helmets that blends in with the highway/road. I guess they want to end up being part of the highway/road! Color coordinating with a black or silver motorcycle is absolutely plain stupid! Think about it: Why are School buses, dividing lines/no passing lines on the highway and State, county and local highway trucks and equipment Yellow? Because the color is more visible! Ride Smart and Visible: Not color coordinated! Now I can use the coupon to buy the Bluetooth unit later to add to this great helmet when I need it. Keep up the good work Jafrum!
"easy open/close, easy replace shield, interior visor easy to use, air vent on top front was broken on mine, my wife's was o.k. No big deal, just buzzes in the wind since day one. All and all , a very good modular helmet. Bought two in red, may get another in black, eventually...."
The Vega Summit 3 is a nice helmet for the money. The sizeing was spot on, if you go by there chart you can't go wrong. The sun shield is kind of cheap, or should I say low quality but the rest of the helmet seems to be very good, now we will see how it holds up to real life's bumps.
what an amazing helmet. The hi viz really catches your eye. It fits great and is comfortable.
Great helmet at a great price. Fast shipping
We hate wearing full face but this is definitely the way to go...very pleased! If you wear a half shell normally go a size up for this helmet though...other than that...perfect gear!
This is my 2nd Vega Summit 3 helmet. The first served faithfully for 2 years of frequent commuting. The Day Glo color started to fade but the helmet worked great ...and then I dropped it. The new lid in Day Glo replaces the original. The flip down visor is easy to use and provides instant glare relief. Ventilation is good but not superb. In winter cold air streams in from below, even with the chin curtain in place. But still a very good helmet. And you can not beat the price.
I love the helmet. Love the sunglasses that raise and lower when needed. A bit concerned with the lever that raises and lowers it. Seems a bit flimsy, but time will tell. Comfortable fit. I love the blue tooth slots for the speakers.
