Good But Not Great
Posted onI will start with at least someone put the bluetooth in the helmet. Since there are no others out there, this is the best one with the technology. The speakers are decent, but lack bass and a good strong sound. They are definitely lacking when you are running above 60mph. The wind noise all but covers the speakers. At speed, don't even think of answering the phone. They won't be able to hear you and you won't hear them.
The helmet is comfortable and I like the drop down sun visor. It's easy to operate the visor as well as the bluetooth controls. Overall, it's a good product.
Bluetooth - What every helmet should have by now
Posted onAbout me and my ride: I ride a 2014 GSX-R 1000 I ride to/from work and for fun I am 42 and it is beyond me why every helmet does not have Bluetooth built in. I have responsibilities and use distinct ringtones to know when a call is important so I can pull over and take the call or ignore it and enjoy my ride. I was going to buy a Shoei but they do not offer built in Bluetooth Pros: The helmet fits well Even with a racing exhaust I can hear callers, ringtones, music very well and callers can hear me The sun visor works well and is not too dark Easy to clean Very Good battery life Easy to use without getting your phone out Cons: I had the get the first Bluetooth module replaced at no cost because the software was bad Seems a bit louder than my previous helmet but I shaved my head since having the previous helmet Wish they offered graphics on the helmets
First BT Helmet
Posted onThis is my first BT helmet, but certainly not my first "budget" helmet. Definitely wind noise is louder than any Arai or Shoei that I have worn in the past, but on par with any Bilt, Bieffe, HJC, etc...that I have worn. BT is easily setup and does provide some audible sound. There is little to no bass, and I believe that is a speaker quality more than acoustic issue. So turning up the volume can result in some overwhelming treble that can be tiresome over long distances.I don't use the phone function, for me riding the bike is to escape for a while. Overall I am satisfied, I use it almost religiously on my 3hr commutes each weekend and it helps break up the miles. Good value.
Posted onThe helmet does run on the small side. So my only drether would have been to get the next size larger. On another site the reviews said the volume isn't loud enough. As long as the volume is all the way up on the transmitting unit you'll have to turn the helmet volume down. I ride a sport touring bike. At 100 mph I can hear whatever I'm listening to and there is little head buffeting. I wear hearing aids but not with my helmet, so anyone with normal hearing should hear just fine.
Posted onThis helmet is the third helmet that I've owned and is by far the best. The bluetooth system is easy to use and is louder than most, but has low quality; although you wont exactly find anything else with better quality. There are some downsides of this helmet: The vents on the top of the helmet don't exactly click into place very well and can feel like bad quality at times. The helmet is also not as quiet as the video review said it was. It's just as loud as the other two helmets that I've owned in the past. The dropdown sade is awesome! I love that feature. Just be careful when riding with your face shield up because the drop shade can scratch very easily. Overall a great helmet for a great price.
